ALTEC LANSING BXR1220 2.0 Speaker System

Pros: Great speakers. I haven't had to buy any for a while now and it's a genius idea to get the power from the USB instead of a power adapter. Great quality sounds from something cheap but also loud enough for listening to music from youtube.

Cons: The wires tangle with themselves all the time. I know they're only 20 bucks, but only if they would use high quality cables that didn't tangle amongst themselves, that would be better!

Overall Review: Now that they're using the USB port to obtain power to the speakers, why not make the USB connector into one where something else can plug into it instead. (I hope that made sense). That way, it doesn't really take ONE full port for it to operate. Second, if they could get the sound off the USB cable instead of having to use the audio jacks; this will limit cables too!

Pros: Small but they put out a surprising amount of quality, natural sound. Uses USB for power which eliminates the need for a power plug. Solidly built.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This is the second set I've purchased, this time for my parent's new PC. Dad was very happy with the sound, the size, and no power plug. They look (and sound) so much nicer than the big plastic monstrosities he'd had for the past eight years.

Overall Review: We have been limping along with extremely poor audio on our desktop computer for a year now. I did not like to watch video because of the poor sound. That changed with this purchase. These little speakers are great. I suppose at the very high end of volume they are lacking, but we don't use our computer for listening to music or as a sound system. Good for movies though.

Pros: I had a pair of these for almost 2 years now. They survived the entire time on their own. Only had to replace them because of a 'mouse infestation' of sorts behind my computer that got at a lot of my wires(little guys chewed right through one of the speaker's wires)

Cons: Well, there's the always obvious when you're 'budget shopping', these aren't 'top class', but of course, you wouldn't spend this much on 'top class' so it should be obvious. I don't really count that kind of stuff against these kinds of products like some people do. The price more than matches the quality, and that's all it needs to be(and cheaper and it's just another 'bonus').

Overall Review: I have had these situated underneath/behind my monitor for 2 years now, and they've been doing a fantastic job for my basic audio needs. They are an efficient investment for your mid-range audio needs, but if you're looking for lots of bass and high volume speakers I would look elsewhere. Some lighter musical undertones may be lost by these speakers, but they still capture the overall musical quality intended for your enjoyment. Unfortunately their lightness and cylindrical shape held up by thin plastic supports make these speakers a trial to those who do not have a lot of room for them, as they're prone to fall off smooth surfaces with just the lightest push. I've had to fish these out from behind my computer desk several times, causing me to use some double-sided tape to make sure they stay put. Other than these small issues these speakers are really efficient for their cost, and you won't be disappointed.

Pros: USB powered; decent sound; low profile.

Cons: LED light is very bright.

Pros: I love these speakers because they use USB for power so I don't have another wall-wart taking up space. The sound quality is pretty good for cheap speakers running on USB power.

Cons: The cables are a little short so you need to plan where you are going to put them. The bass quality isn't great.

Overall Review: I bought a pair of these for my kids computer and I'm going to purchase some for my wife too.

Pros: I live in a college dorm so these small speakers are ideal for my space. They produce great sound while not taking up that much space. I've had them for 5 months now and there's no problem at all.

Cons: If you want "amazing" sound or a lot of bass look elsewhere.

Overall Review: They're good for dorms and small spaces because they don't have a lot of bass. Bass can bleed through the walls and disturb other people. But other than that, I'd recommend these!
