Antec's Signature Series SG850 power supply takes their passion for quality to the next level. The engineers have designed in details that maximize efficiency. Magnetic amplifiers have been replaced with voltage regulators for the 3.3V and 5V outputs reducing transient response time down to 10 microseconds. The faster response ensures a smoother power flow to your system.

The 80mm fan is regulated with Pulse Width Modulation so it can reduce speed by up to 50%. The dual double layer PCB does two things, it allows for a lower component density and increased efficiency. This lets the PSU take advantage of the slower potential fan speeds. It also helps the PSU to achieve an 80-Plus Bronze efficiency rating.

A hybrid system gives you the best of both worlds in cable management. Mandatory cables, like those going to the motherboard, are hard-wired for minimal resistance, and to save you assembly time. The 4 PCIe cables let you hook up multiple video cards to the SLI certified PSU. Peripheral cables can be added at need. Antec has put their signature on the PSU, so you can put yours on the whole system.

  • newegg 850W Maximum Power The Antec Signature SG850 PSU provides a maximum power of 850W for a safe, reliable output for high-end computer systems.
  • newegg 80 PLUS Bronze Certified The 80 PLUS Bronze certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 82% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving your money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg Pulse Width Modulation Fan The Antec Signature SG850 power supply features an 80mm Pulse Width Modulation fan for whisper-quiet cooling.
  • newegg NVIDIA SLI Certified The Antec Signature SG850 PSU has gone through a series of rigorous NVIDIA SLI certification tests for maximum system stability when building NVIDIA SLI PCs.
  • newegg Advanced Hybrid Cable Management The advanced Hybrid Cable Management System provides an optimal solution for power distribution and airflow by hardwiring mandatory cables to reduce resistance and enabling peripheral cables to be installed as needed to minimize cable clutter for improved airflow.

Long Lasting, Quiet, Flawless Power 2/20/2018 3:23:11 PM

Pros: -Has lasted from December 2009 to present day (2/20/2018) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 per year. It has never been turned off.
- Quiet. It's simply never heard, even under full load
-Modular Cables

Cons: -Modular Cables are very stiff

Overall Review: This has been/is a fantastic power supply. Back in the day, it was top rated and for good reason. I've had this ps running a full water cooling loop (gpu and cpu), and at one time two cards in sli (now just a single 980), an overclocked i7-920, five hard drives, 8 case fans, and two optical drives for 8 years non stop.

Best power supply. Ever. Too bad it is out of production.

Quiet and pretty! 4/26/2013 7:46:44 PM

Pros: Beautiful case with a cool blue LED glow to relax you along with those nights of gaming. The case fans keep the temperature well regulated and run super quiet! I love this case!

It REALLY is quiet. Its the most quiet I've ever owned.

Cons: The exterior perforated portions on the front can get very dusty. However, this is an auspicious place to collect dust due to the ease it can be cleaned on this particular case.

3 years and Counting 4/13/2012 10:25:43 PM

Pros: Has never failed me through multiple upgrades. Plenty of cables.

Cons: Sometimes on boot up it has a power up stutter. I will hit the 'on' button, everything comes to life, then turns off after just second or two. It then powers back on and runs normally. This happens about 10% of the time. Perhaps I'm pushing too much stuff? (See Other Thoughts)

Overall Review: Currently pushing:
Core I-7
Corsair H100 CPU liquid cooling
12 GB triple channel RAM
two (2) 460 GTX v2 sLi'd
two (2) HDD
two (2) DVD-RW
nine (9) 120mm case fans
one (1) 240mm case fan

Reliable PSU 5/3/2011 8:08:39 AM

Pros: I have two workstations running with these PSU's. They are running in difficult conditions and I have had a few components fail, but not these. I have done what I can to mitigate environmental conditions. People should understand how important things like proper air filtering can mitigate system problems.
For these specs this PSU has worked perfectly:
Asus X58
6GB 1600mhz
gtx 570
Lianli li 7FBN

This PSU provides stable reliable power.

Cons: With a smaller ventilation area this psu may have difficulty with high dust environments over time without proper air filtering.

Overall Review: The front (instead of bottom) fan design on this psu is superb for cases that bottom mount the psu. Since it will not draw dirty air directly from the bottom of the case but will still benefit from any filtered bottom ventilation. I find a PSU rubber silencer makes for a better installation.

Antec has great support 4/25/2011 2:51:48 PM

Pros: I bought this a bit more than 2 years ago after reading the reviews here. I won't recap them; suffice it to say I was not disappointed.
I'm writing this to give the community some feedback and to counter, somewhat, the negative reviews on product breakdown and Antec's replacement work.

Cons: After 2 years of almost continuous use with this PS, my comp failed to start after using the sleep function yesterday.
Today, with an understandable yet minimal effort on my part Antec (see below) is making good on a replacement.

Overall Review: I called Antec's support number. I waited approx. 15-20 min., with regular notices from the recorded voice about where I was in the queue. I progressed from 2nd to 1st, then rapidly Peter was on the line. He patiently walked me through the steps for testing the power supply (shorting two pins on the MoBo connector), & together we talked back and forth so he was reassured I had also eliminated the d**b**s things techs are plagued with when dealing with folks out in the public. This procedure was quick & painless for me, but took a bit of time, as, like a d**b**s, I wasn't ready immediately with the case open etc. (Thanks for your patience, Peter!)
We decided it was in fact the power supply.
He then talked me through the very simple Antec procedures for registering our effort on their site, & requesting a replacement.
I've elected their Advance Replacement option to speed the process: a fair way to get a replacement quickly by buying one, while they receive/test the old, then refund m

3yrs and running! 3/28/2011 9:44:56 PM

Pros: This beast still continues to amaze me. I have gone through several upgrades of my entire computer, except this PSU! I can push anything!! I started with a core 2 quad 9450 OC'd to 2.8 w/ 2 GTX 285's also OC'd, and then to two GTX 470's and those ran awesome! Now it is pushing a 570 w/ a 260 as a PhysX card and I never have once had an issue. Stepping up soon to the GTX 580's and have no doubts that this thing will still be rock solid in it's performance.

Cons: Did like to get warm but air flow is not a problem in my case so has never been any trouble.

Overall Review: This is my second feedback post on this PSU in two years and I am still just as satisfied as I was back then. Even if I do need to upgrade for the 580's I have coming, Antec will always be my choice for PSU's!

High Pitched Whine After Six Months 3/19/2011 6:46:19 PM

Pros: This worked fabulously in every way for six months with no high-frequency noise.

Cons: After six months of use (I leave my computer on 24/7), this power supply developed a high-frequency whine when I run programs that require a high processor-load (e.g. a Sony Vegas video project).

The new high-frequency whine observed in the power supply corresponded with a BIOS upgrade of my ASUS P6X58D Premium motherboard BIOS to version 1301. This may be pure coincidence.

Overall Review: There is no excuse for a power supply's noise signature to degrade like this. I have already ordered a different model from another manufactuerer as a replacement.
