Can this monitor be mounted to the wall? What is the VESA dimensions?

Yes, VESA dimensions appear to be 75mm x 75mm (2.95in x 2.95in). You'll also need about two inches of clearance from the wall to have room for the cables on the back.

What are the exact outside dimensions?

Without the stand, mine is 25 3/8 by 15 1/2, with an extra 2 1/8 height with the stand.  I'm not sure of the thickness, but it isn't more than an inch without the stand, and probably 3 inches with the stand.  If thickness is important, you should know that the connections go straight out the back rather than down.

I hooked this monitor up to my son's gaming computer.  I hooked the HDMI out from his graphics card to the monitor and the line-out from the motherboard to the monitor....and I don't get any sound from the monitor.  When I hook up my line-out from the computer to a portable speaker it works.  Now, I know that my graphics card doesn't have an audio processor...my question is this.....does the monitor think that the HDMI is both audio and visual inputs so it only looks for sound from the HDMI and ignores the line-in aux cable?

i don't know what the monitor thinks, but on mine i only have sound if i run the audio wire from mobo audio jack speakers or monitor. Doesn't carry sound from gpu. Sometimes you just got to do what works.

Recommended video settings? I have seen many people state out of the box the picture is lackluster. I am interested in some specific settings to maximize my experience

Set your color format to YCbCr444. On RGB colors can appear flushed.

Question 5

Monitor arrived when I was out of the office last week. Finally set up today but missing the cable from HDMI to a USB connection for speaker capability. Anyone know what cable I need? Newegg website suggesting HDMI to HDMI but that won't fit.

Audio already comes through a HDMI, so you don't need USB. The audio cable that comes with the monitor plugs into your computer. You most probably don't have a HDMI output on your computer an will be using the VGA port
