Does this model have a user-replaceable battery?

You can replace it, but you'll have to open the unit to do so.  Unlike other models, this one doesn't have a door or panel that slides open for easy access to the battery.  Instead you have to remove screws and remove the bottom panel.  Once in there it's easy to replace the battery.

Question 2

Does this unit 'condition' the power coming into the connected equipment?

This unit only provides backup battery power and does not appear to have any regulating or conditioning functions

Would this have a enough power for a CPAP  machine (for sleep apnea)?

Oh yeah, in fact, I have thought about getting an extra one just for the other bedroom to use with the CPAP machine in that room.  I run our modem, router, computer, tv, cable box, and streaming device off of this item.

Question 4

I had an APC years ago and had to get a different brand because there was no way to turn off the beep. I, of course, didn't mind the beep telling me that it had lost power but it just kept on beeping until it died. With no way to turn it off (per APC). 
Have they fixed this?

Now it only beeps when you hold down the button that turns the battery backup function on or off.... when it does not have incoming power  and it providing the UPS power source, the green on light just flashes - no beeping.

Does this work with Synology NAS systems via USB so that the NAS can shutdown automatically before the UPS run out of juice?

Any tricks to get this to sit flat on a table?  The power connector on the bottom sticks out farther than the feet after installation!

Make sure your power connector is clipped in properly, and pushed in all the way, all 4 of mine sit flat.
