Does this unit have a fan that runs continuously even when there is no load?  I need one that's silent when regular grid power is working.

The fan does not run unless the battery (and therefore the inverter) is under load.

Will this correct the power from a generator which doesn't produce a proper waveform? Such as a non-inverter type generator.

It sounds like what you want is something to clean the dirty power  harmonics above the 60Hz voltage. This device is an uninterruptable power supply which is designed to keep your system running on a power failure. That's primarily its function with anything else added not directly related to its function. I have no experience with line generators but this particular device has many relays in it that could be problematic for a line generator - otherwise it is doing its job for me but I'm just plugged into a normal public service utility line.

I have two beefy gaming rigs at home. Would it be possible to connect both of them to a single APC? I'm aware that the UPS may only be able to shut down a single computer via software but I'm not worried about this.

Supplying power is not an issue with UPS, not technically, but for all intents they can just be big expensive power strips... the question becomes how long do you want your rigs to stay live during a power failure.  If you just have blips or brown outs often (talking a second or so), then yes, two 1000W power supplies at full load will likely stay live.  If you are wanting 1 - 2 min while your web surfing on one and the other is just sitting there, then probably.   However, if you are wanting a full 1 - 5min draw or more when they are on full load, then no, you'll want at least 1 unit for each computer.  Theoretically on a 1500VA and using the simplistic rule of 1VA = 1W, you don't want to put more than 1/2 to 3/4 on the UPS... so 750 - 1000W max.  Assuming your beefy rigs are 800+ power supply, a usb hub, possibly a network switch, one or more LCD, speakers... one of these units is a bit under powered for 1 rig at full load... but again, for how long?

does the data port on the rear make it capable to control from some locally hosted web interface?

The port labeled RJ45 is the port for the CLI /condole on the device it is plugged into, usually USB or serial on the other end. To manage multiple units from one console requires much larger units than this and the purchase of mic cards for the device

Could I use this APC to shut down TWO computers that are configured in a peer to peer network fashion (network with no server)?

Software does not allow alone, but you can have it run a script which can kick off a remote shutdown command via .bat/.cmd (shutdown.exe /s /m  for windows), as long as its run by a user account that has rights on the other system, then yes you can make it work, but PowerChute personal edition with this unit cannot control multiple systems directly.

I have an i9 setup with a 2080ti hybrid that currently uses 600 watts while playing games. How long will the BR1500MS run my PC at this power level on battery power? My current APC UPS (BR1000MS) is overloading and I would like to upgrade.

How long does this UPS take to fully charge? Mine has been plugged in for a few days and the battery readout does not show full battery

Is this safe to run off of 1 socket?  My family is concerned since I use a lot of power in my room and I need to know if having all the sockets in use won't cause any fires.

The answer is yes. The APC device is designed to maintain the correct voltage to all devices plugged into it. If it should become overloaded it will shut itself off. I have yet seen one do this and my company has close to 300 of these in service.

Question 10

Does this unit draw power/charge itself when turned off?

I'm on an off-grid system (Solar, Generator, and battery bank) and we turn most everything off or unplug it at night.

The battery will not charge if it is already at capacity. The only time it runs on the battery is when there is NO power. Turning it off will prevent any vampire electric usage by anything plugged into it. You can unplug it if you wish, but there should be no need to unless it was activated earlier in the day.
