The APC RBC #124 is compatible with the following models: BR1300G, BR1500G, BR1200GI, BR15OOGI, BR1200G-FR, BR1500G-FR, SMC1000-2U, SMC1000-2U. You could take your old battery out, peel back the green sticker and change the individual batteries and keep the center harness. Cheaper. Just replace the batteries with same ratings. Then lay the sticker back down.

The product is genuine packed with APC box. It's brand new, not refurbished nor used. I don't know will it fit BX 1550 G? I can't find this model. Is it discontinue model? I suggest you to give a call to APC to find out the correct model# for replacement battery. In addition, APC has a recycle program for replacement battery called "Recycling Options" or you can trade-in your whole UPS. Good thing is APC will give you a free shipping label for you to ship your old battery back to APC. You don't need to worry about disposal. Hope it will help you. Good luck.
