Great idea — get two! One for lights, one for darks. We actually think it's fun to "play the sorting game." Builds habits early before they move out someday.
How small does it get when folded?
It flattens down to about 1-2 inches thick. I slide mine under my bed or between my mini fridge and the wall. Takes almost no space at all.
Can this hamper stand on its own when it's full of clothes?
Yes, it stays upright pretty well even when full. I've stuffed mine with a week's worth of jeans, hoodies, and towels, and it never tipped over.
