Yes, The power supply is included, also as a refurbished product. Mine works as expected but it was looking a little on the rough side when I opened the box.

No it doesnt come with any software.  Furthermore I wouldnt buy one of these again because it has already cost us at least an additional $200/ yrs since we got it because the sytsem just locked up and we couldnt do anything with it until we took it to an Apple store where they had to reset the operating system and they charged us for that plus for saving all data and programs we had stored on it.  It has actually happened to us for the last 2 Apple computers we bought.  And they were both new!  I'm sticking with HP and Dell in the future.  Apple is not what it used to be.

Good question.  I didn't know when I ordered it but I took my chances.  As far as I'm concerned, the one I got is pretty flawless for its age.  No stains or scratches or loose hinges or missing pixels.  I think B grade would normally signify small defects like the ones I just said mine didn't have.

Mine came with 4GB 2X2GB and the largest upgrade I could find was 16GB 2X8GB and it made a big difference. To the best of my knowledge that's as good as it gets or I would have gone higher.

This MacBook Pro came out in 2012 and even though this specific unit may have been build later, it is still an older unit that is going to run slow unless major upgrades are done. if you're looking for MacBook Pro that will last you throughout school, you may want to consider a newer one that comes with SSD and more memory for around 1k or if your budget allows, wait till September and get the newest one coming out for around $1700.  However, if this unit suits your budget best, tehn go for it, it is still a capable laptop and will do the job, just not as fast!

Hi, I'm headed off to college and am looking for a computer that will last me through school, is fast, and has a lot of storage. My techy friend suggested a computer with an i7 processor, wondering what the difference is?

Okay, in used computers, the i5 and i7 are dual core processors. The i7 is the faster of the two, but the i5 is not bad depending on what you're doing. If you're looking toward more gaming, then neither of these will work that well for you. If you purchase a newer machine, then the two of these lines are more like 6 core ( the more cores, the more power and speed). Again, the i7 is the better, and more expensive.

That being said there are some things you can do that will speed up the older MacBook Pro's. In my case I installed the maximum memory, 8gb, and I replaced the 500gb drive with a 500gb SSD. The SSD made the system considerably faster, and the extra memory also gave it some boost.

I would say that this machine would work very well through your college years, and it's quite powerful, but maybe not the best for gaming. I love mine and the upgrades, I believe, have given this machine a much longer life.
