Aquacomputer ULTITOP Pump Top For D5 Pumps, Acetal (41123)

The Aquacomputer ULTITOP Pump Top For D5 Pumps (41123) is an extremely compact D5 pump top made of very resistant acetal, with two G1/4 ports. The pump is not included: an anodized aluminum mounting ring and gasket in the box hold the D5 motor.

Flow and decoupling

Aquacomputer says that during development of this top, which was specifically made for D5 pumps, optimal flow and quiet operation were the primary focus. Its stainless steel bracket rests on silicone decouplers specially developed for it, a mount that effectively prevents the transmission of vibrations to the computer case. For assembly, stainless steel sheets with M3 threads are inserted in the decouplers. The bracket can be detached by loosening a single screw, for easy access to the pump.

What the loop needs

Of a complete D5 pump only the housing with the electronics and the impeller are used. A D5 NEXT has its controller unit off while the ring is screwed on. The return line goes to the central connector marked "IN" and the other line to the lateral one, so the top takes two G1/4 fittings. Screw them in gently: the threads are in the plastic base. The central thread sits in a recess 22 mm wide and 3 mm deep: a wider fitting needs an extension (not included), such as the male to female extension fittings. In polished brass with dark nickel plating, the same top is the ULTITOP Mirror Black (41133).
