can you replace the fan easily?

If you mean replacement in the computer case, then it is usually very easy. You need to remove the old screws, insert the rubber pins into the holes, pull them in until they click,   put in the fan so that pins are going through the fan mounting holes, then hold the fan and pull the pins until they lock.

What is the total height of this unit?

about the same size as the stock intel cooler.
1/2" to 3/4" higher than the stock cooler.
it did not block the the ram slots in my matx mobo

should be.   most of all 115x holes are backwards compatible with each other.
