ARCTIC Freezer 11 LP CPU Cooler for Intel, Support Multiple Sockets, HTPC Ready

Pros: Cooling is Great, Arctic Cooling is great for any price, quiet, efficient PWM Speed controlling.

Cons: Too big for my Cramped Mini ITX boards. Could not get it to fit in any configuration that I tried and used the Stock cooler instead.

Overall Review: Great cooler although it did not fit my needs it is great for larger than Mini ITX Motherboards. Memory gets in the way on one way and the video card gets in the way on the other. but if you are using a Micro or Regular sized ATX Board this would be a great Cooling solution for those with not a lot to spend on cooling but still want the quiet best performers.

Pros: Since I didn't have to pull this CPU cooler out of its clear packaging to judge the (mis-)fit in my build, I cannot comment on its function.

Cons: This cooler DOES NOT FIT on an ASROCK H77M micro ATX motherboard. The heat pipe ends span out into the area occupied by the closest memory DIMM. Maybe ultra low profile memory would allow a fit, but see below. While others have pointed out that mini-ITX boards can be a problem, there is at least one mATX board that also cannot use this cooler.

Overall Review: On the box, there is a reference to a "Height Restriction Drawing" available at Arctic's product page for this cooler, very near the bottom. I missed this in my purchase review. You can get there from the newegg page for this product. The relevant width of the cooler is 115mm. Perhaps ultra low profile memory would be able to fit under the heat pipe ends. The drawing indicates there is 29.4mm of room below them, measured from the surface of the motherboard (so don't forget to account for the stack height of the DIMM socket itself).

Cons: -Pipe clearance is a make-or-break deal depending on your board -Not a high performance solution for extreme overclocking -Works best with a side fan feeding it fresh air directly

Overall Review: Make sure that your board has sufficient clearance for the pipes in at least one direction, or it simply won't fit. Those pipes can make things awkward if your CPU is surrounded by high VRM sinks and the memory modules are very close to the socket. This thing runs whisper quiet at idle. Sitting on top of an overclocked E8400, it performs better than the copper cored Intel heatsinks with none of the noise. LinPack pushes 55C and P95 pushes 51C, where the copper/alu Intel cooler was 67C and 62C. Even at high speed, it remains fairly quiet. Does fit Gigabyte P35-DS3L and EP45-UD3R.

Pros: Used this for a Silverstone ML03 build with a low watt i3. This cooler is likely overkill, but for the price and a more quiet operation I could not pass it up. It is quiet, moves a lot of air even at low settings, and fits well in my Micro ATX HTPC build. The build quality of the unit as everything I have experienced with Artic is GREAT. Installation is EASY.

Cons: If you have Ram with heat spreaders you *could* run into an issue with the cooler rubbing against them. I did not have this issue.

Pros: Very quiet, it cools pretty well. With the stock fan my CPU ran at about 55C in my cramped ITX case and now it runs about 43C at idle (probably could have been lower but that was my fault, see Other thoughts).

Cons: It's much bigger than I had anticipated. I have a GA-H61N-USB3 ITX motherboard and the cooler covers one of the RAM slots and the copper tubing is pushing against the Graphics Card...so it just barely fits. Although the PSU originally sat on top of the stock cooling fan, it will not fit inside the case (Apex MI-008) with the cover on because the new cooler is so tall (I'd guess I would need another 7 or 8 millimeters of clearance to make it fit). So I guess I gotta buy a new case and just hope that I never need more than 8 gigs of RAM. The instructions should have been clearer as to what position the CPU Cooler needs to be in, so if you buy it, make sure that the copper tubing is facing against the GPU, not the memory, or else it will get stuck on the plastic brackets that are used in installation and the cooler will never touch the CPU.

Overall Review: The reason it still runs at 43C at idle is because the instructions weren't very clear, so I just thought that the reason the CPU temps were so high after putting the cooler in was because the thermal paste hadn't cured. Well woke up the next morning with temps at around 80C wondering whats up. I took the cooler out to see that only half of the CPU had paste on it. I turned the cooler 90 degrees and it went in perfectly...although this is AFTER the paste cured so if I bought some new compound It'd probably be in the 30's, but not their fault so I can't really take a star off for that. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is because the instructions could've been a little better and even though the dimensions were listed and I just assumed it would fit because it's low profile...I was wrong and paid for it.

Pros: -Sturdy -VERY quiet -Easy to follow install instructions -Keeps the CPU cold

Cons: -Bigger in a minor way

Overall Review: I had (unwisely) chosen this piece for a Mini ITX board. Because everything is so crammed together, it covers one of the memory slots and the heatpipes jut into the PCIx slot. For a Micro ATX board, this cooler is PRIME.

Pros: Excellent cpu cooler for HTPC case. Quiet and efficient with my Core 2 Duo 6750 cpu. Far superior to the stock Intel cooler.

Cons: None

Pros: - Good cooling. My core i5 2500k is at 38 degree idle and 48 degree 100% load. - Pretty quiet. - No extra annoying LED.

Cons: The instruction could be improved. I almost had to RMA this because I installed it wrong the first time and thought it's not working. There are two brackets go on to the motherboard first. They should be mounted ALONG THE DIRECTION OF THE MEMORY SLOTs (at least on my motherboard). The cooler will install just fine if you put it the other way, but will not offer any cooling at all. To be honest, the installation is pretty straight forward if you know this.

Overall Review: A nice replacement for no OC setup. Probably for HTPC too due to it's small footprint and low noise.
