ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm Ceramic CPU Cooler

Pros: I build and repair computers for a living and have my own shop. We have installed just about every type of CPU HSF from every major manufacturer out there. I can't believe the performance for the price. I was so impressed that I dumped a product costing 3x as much and installed 1 on my personal gaming rig. Don't hesitate... Get yours now!

Cons: This isn't really a con, but it is very large. When installing on my new MSI K8N Diamond Plus the space between the northbridge fan and the locking mechanism was paper thin. Spend the extra bucks and have your products sent by FedEx. I know NewEgg switched to UPS for lower prices to remain competitive with other e-tailers. My personal experience is the FedEx delivers faster and boxes arrive in much better condition. The few times I've used UPS the boxes look like they were drug behind the truck from California to Virginia. Your choice.

Overall Review: If you are looking for a quiet high performance product this is it. I have recommended this to all my customers. You should also know that I've been a NewEgg customer for many years (like 7) and we purchase over 90% of our components from NewEgg. They are the best of the best!

Pros: Keeps CPU cool (what its designed to do). I have an AMD 4200+ (dual core) and i run around 34-36 C under normal computing (transcoding video, recording video from multiple tv tuners...)

Cons: Be VERY careful when you install it.. people who have had a hard time installing it are probably not lining up the small holes with the plastic pin on the bottom of the metal CPU mount bracket. When these fall into place the fan easily clamps down onto the bracket. Does the fan really have PWM control when it is only a 3-pin connector?? Mine only has three and YES I bought this exact item.

Overall Review: They give you way too much thermal paste.. i'd recommend scraping it off and puttin on something else.

Pros: keeps my amd 6400+ at 28 degrees idle and 45 degrees under a heavy load. This is a processor most people complain about running hot. very easy to install and the downward foils in the back blow over my mobo foils keeping it cool as well

Cons: fan shroud gets in the way of installing ram on the last two slots on asus m2n sli deluxe. I was still able to get it in because of the rubber gaskets that hold the fan on, so not a problem for me. I have mushkin ram which has a pretty low profile heat spreader if you have something with a big heat spreader this may be a problem for you. also it is a little on the noisy side (not too bad), but for the low price i can live with it.

Pros: Does a good job of cooling my fx 60. The fan is very silent and the life expectancy of this thing is unbelievable. The cooler can be oriented in any direction, so no matter which way your socket is, you can turn the fan to face the exhaust. If you want to see how this is done or some good review on the product just google "arctic cooling freezer 64 pro review" and have a look at the first 10 sites it finds. My temps are 38C at idle and 52C full load for 1 hour. Core temps range from 40C to 58C full load. Keep in mind that the core is always hotter than the temps reported by the bios.

Cons: This thing is fairly tall. May not fit in a home theatre pc. Tall ram like corsair pro with LED lights on top will not fit under the fan on this cooler. If you have only 2 sticks of dual channel ram, you can move the ram from slots a1 and b1 to a2 and b2 without any problems. Then the cooler fits just fine.

Overall Review: The fan is a 4 pin PWM fan that can plug into a standard 3 pin motherboard connector, but the fan will spin at its top speed all the time, which is still very silent. The coolers base does not cover the entire heat spreader of the CPU. After doing some research I discovered this is not a problem and the cooler was designed this way on purpose. The vase majority of the heat goes directly from the cpu core through the heat spreader, and therfore you do not need to cover the cpu from corner to corner. Don't remove the pre-applied paste, its comes with arctic cooling mx 2 compound and is as good if not better than arctic silver 5.

Pros: Not sure why everyone's drooling over this. I bought this to replace my stock heatsink for my Phenom II x4 940 and have noticed little to no differences in CPU temps. First time I just used the thermal paste that came applied, ran it for a few days and seen no difference, then decided to remove the heatsink and properly clean the cpu and copper base with rubbing alcohol to ensure a perfect clean, then recoat with Arctic Silver 5 paste and still no difference. My phenom doesn't idle bad, idle temps are average 35-37C, same as the stock heatsink, and the highest it's gone under load was 54-55C, according to CoreTemp logs. The fan on this heatsink is weak, even at max speed which BIOS reports at 2500 RPM. Putting my hand by the back of the heatsink I can barely feel the fan blowing through the fins, and yes, I have this facing to the rear of the case as instructed with a vented backing on my case. Plus, you think at this price it's really going to beat stock heatsink, for an AM2?

Cons: No cons really, just no different than the stock heatsink. It's big, but no big deal. Installation was a bit of hassle on an ASUS M3A78-EM AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX mobo. I've done after market heat sink installations before but this one was a bit difficult trying to get the clips on, but once they're on, it's snug. Also, I happened to noticed after getting this seated on the Phenom processor and getting it latched down, there is an area around the copper base that does not cover the cpu, like maybe an 1/8 of an inch or so. Maybe it's no biggie, just kinda bothered me there's still some of the CPU surface not covered up. I know it's seated right otherwise it wouldn't latch down and the exposed area of the CPU surface is even all the way around, so the base must be centered.

Overall Review: It's cheap, and maybe would be great for older processors like socket 939's or older, but for these 125 watt phenoms, I think something else is in order. Don't just buy it like I did because of all the hype, at least for a Phenom.

Pros: Amazing. Thought I was losing my mind but this cooler on an AMD AM2 5000+ Black series CPU rocks. I used Arctic Silver 5 and it keeps my CPU at 16 to 19 degrees C at idle!!! Mobo is at 23C Extremely quiet too.

Cons: The fan shroud covers the first two dimm slots on my Asus M2N Mobo. I could turn the retaining bracket 90 degrees but I prefer to have the fan blow out the back of my PC. I can live with that.

Overall Review: I've checked the Asus utility and the Bios and have the same temp readings. Played the Crysis demo at medium settings for an hour and never rose above 42 C. For 20 bucks it's a steal.

Pros: cools very nice if modded the fan included is not able to push enuf air through the tight fins on this sink. mainly due to the open shroud design i would imagine. simply adding a 90mm fan pulling air out the opposite side made a dramatic diff in load temp. went from pushin near 60c load to 48c not bad.

Cons: bad fan design does not push air through the tight fins very well. easy fix though. also the finish on the base is rather ghastly not smooth at all will be pulling it off and lapping it very soon. alot of grooves on it looks like they drug it across some 60grit paper lol

Overall Review: i like it even though it is not as quality a product as it should be. with a few minor modifications the full potential of this sink should be well worth the budget price

Pros: I've had this thing cooling processors since the socket 939. it's seen an athlon 4000+, a phenom II 945, and most recently an FX-8320. it keeps my current CPU around 18 at idle and no more than 43 at load.

Cons: none I can think of.

Overall Review: a year or so ago the fan started making noise and stopped turning. because all of the lubricant had evaporated out of the bearings. so I got some 20w-50 motorcycle oil, peeled off the fan sticker a little bit to expose the bearings, poured a drop or two in, hand spun the fan until it loosened up, and now it's completely functional again and running just as strong. so if anyone is having that issue, there's your fix.
