Polyester/Elastane Caps
Polyester or polyester/elastane swim caps are the perfect choice for beginner swimmers looking for a comfortable and lightweight swim cap. Thanks to their softness, these low-maintenance swim caps are very easy to put on and to take off, and they don’t pull on hair. Polyester swim caps will last for a long time if rinsed of chlorine after every use. Due to the fabric itself, Polyester offers no water resistance.
Latex Caps
Latex caps are the right choice for swimmers looking for easy fit and hydrodynamic drag reduction. Latex is a thinner material compared to silicone, and less durable too. Such swim caps rip more easily especially if not worn properly. Being lighter than silicone, latex allows for a greater heat exchange with the external environment, therefore it is more suitable for warmer climates, where heat loss is not an issue.
Silicone Caps
Silicone swim caps are the first choice for swimmers looking for the best hold and maximum glide performance. Silicone is a great compromise for many swimmers thanks to its extensible and stretch-resistant features. Silicone caps can last for years, when cared for properly. This material does not withstand the slightest snag. Therefore, it is advisable to take great care with fingernails when putting on the cap.

Horst Dassler was witness to history in the making. The legendary swimmer Marc Spitz won 7 gold medals in a single Olympic games, making Spitz the most decorated athlete in Olympic history. This incredible feat inspired Dassler – a visionary entrepreneur – to create a line of swimwear dedicated to the world’s best swimmers. Thus, arena was born.
