So does this offer the phone or MTA as well?

A multimedia terminal adapter (MTA), or Home Phone modem, operates much the same as a cable modem, but an MTA can deliver Home Phone service in addition to High Speed Internet.

Not sure what that is, but I think you can do digital phone with it. You'd probably want to reach out to Arris support to be sure though. Other than that it's a killer router/cable modem. Our has been amazing. Have it hard wired to an Xbox One to run Sling Television and for the most part it works really well.

is wifi backward compatable to N, G and B?

Yes, all my devices (even legacy) will connect to it. You can setup both 2ghz and 5ghz.

WiFi range? Comcast compatible?

I have Comcast and it works great.  as far as range goes, it's a bit spotty in part of my basement (the modem/router is on the first floor) but the signal has to go around two corners and downstairs so that's tricky.  Works great on the second floor though.  My house is older with plaster walls too so that makes it more difficult but it does fine.

Does this model offer MoCA (Multimedia over coax cable) connection?

Not sure what that is, but we use ours is hard wired (ethernet) to an Xbox one for both games and videos streaming, inc. Sling Television. Works pretty well.
