Are the graphics integrated by the CPU? Is the CPU replaceable?

Yes, since this is based on an Intel NUC, the graphics are integrated into the CPU.  No, the CPU is completely not replaceable.

You can add two sticks of ram, and either a 2.5" drive or a mSATA drive, and that's about the limit of the customization!

Does this include a cpu? Or does one need to be purchased?

This includes the Intel Braswell 14nm N3000 CPU. You do not need to buy a CPU or Heatsink as they are included

It includes the Intel Celeron N3000.  Generally the barebones systems do not include RAM, though the description for this one is a little vague.

I use the same brand and model, Gskill ripjaws DDR3L 1600 but not the same size (2x4GB) with no problems.

However, you're chances of making the SSD work are slim at best. The sata cable supplied has no effective stress support for sharp bends. There are very sharp bends when the case is closed. It will fail very soon and there are no commercial replacements. This is and engineering management failure. I went to a msata which works nicely. The msata is a not quite square-ish formfactor where as the M.2 is long and thin. M.2 won't fit. Check measurements for these. The advertisers don't seem to know.

Also my second HDMI failed in a few weeks. I have 2 displays so I was able to fall back to the displayport. Still it is a second hardware failure. I like the specs on the beebox but the end product doesn't measure up.

Can this handle 1080p?

Yes. 1080p is easy.  This has the latest N3000 Intel Celeron based CPU and actually can handle 4K video stream if you install both memory channel.   Running this with Kodi and Windows 8/10 is easier as they have the right driver on the install media.  (On OpenELEC/Kodi, uses the latest beta builds.  The stable release will not have the driver support).

Was your Beebox picky about memory?

No not at all...ive had two so far...the first used ram by adata...(part of the combo deal)the other i put 8gb of crucial paired ddr3 4gb pc3 12800 sodimm...no issues with either...just make sure to use two sticks to take advantage of dual channel capabilities

Planning to use Ubuntu Linux.  Any known issues?  Really appreciate any info before I buy and try.

No apparent issues for me, but I recommend the model with the upgraded cpu or the new asrock desk mini because the celeron n3000 is a bit under powered and left me disappointed.

Could the Wireless card be removed and replace by another Mini PCIe card? like another Ethernet GbE MiniPCIe card?

Another wireless card may be yes if you find drivers not another storage drive .

The specs indicate that the max memory supported is 16GB. However the intel website says that the max memory supported by the N3000 process is 8GB. Can anyone confirm that 16GB is actually supported?

I JUST HAVE 8 GB MEMORY
 PROCESSOR IS THE WEAK SPOT
IT WORKS FOR ME AS A LIGHT DUTY MEDIA BOX ON MY SMART TV
