Is BIOS ready for 13th gen Intel in Dec 2023?

I have purchased more than 6, and only 2 of them supported 13th gen out of the box. It is not difficult to update the bios, but you have to have a 12th gen CPU on hand to do the update.

How would the i5-13500 perform in this kit? It looks to be supported, but "maximum turbo power" of the CPU is 154W while the power supply of the DeskMini is 120W.

The i513500 has a PL1 TDP rating (long-term power draw) of 65W, which is fully supported by the Deskmini. However, you are correct that the PL2 (short term turbo) of the processor can jump up to 120W TDP. So, the Deskmini motherboard is very likely to have a PL2 limit set to something lower than what the processor is capable of. So, would the processor work? Yes. Would it be able to perform to its fullest potential when pushed hard? No. The real-world consequences would depend on exactly what you were trying to do with the machine. In my case, the Deskmini is just used for web stuff, so it doesn't really matter. However, if you are doing any serious media work or gaming, I'm guessing you would notice the difference. The bios would not recognize my i3-13100. I had to install an i3-12100 to get into the bios in order to update to the  version in order to recognize my 13th gen.
