Wait, is this a U.2 to M.2 kit?  Or a M.2 to U.2?  (I would want a U.2 to M.2 because Samsung is M.2)

The motherboard slot is M.2.  If you have a gumstick looking SSD, it is M.2. No adapter required.  If you have a PCI-E SSD that is 2.5", THAT is U.2, like my Samsung XS1715.  That requires an adapter.  Lots of M.2 slots sit below hot video cards. This can induce thermal throttling of you M.2 SSD.  Thats what I like about U.2.  It gets you SSD out of the way to stay cooler.
