Will this card work on an 890FX Deluxe 5 motherboard running Windows 10 64-bit?

I'm running it on an ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 motherboard running Windows 10 (64-Bit) and it works perfectly. I'm not sure about your motherboard. I'm sorry. Wish I had a better answer.

Does it come with Windows 2008 server x64?

Actually I did not have opportunity to try with W2008 x64. As of the leaflet and printed on the box, the OS requirement is Win 7/8/8.1-x86/x64.
However, inside the readme.txt found in the driver folder on the support disk, the list is like this:

Question 3

Can the C-port charge devices?  I've seen that other cards that can offer up to 3Amps via usb 3.1-C, but they have an additional power connection.  How does this compare?

Steve - While I have not Tried to charge anything with the type C connector
Everything says it can be done

Two things to think about "Type C" is not the same as a Mini Micro so you would have to get a Dongle to accomplish most Charging

The Second thing is it is a Three amp connection - this may be too much for any standard  device like a Cell Phone - and you may damage the device and/or the battery

Question 4

Is there any USB 3.1 devices out there? if you're using a 3.0 device will it run faster?

Hi,
I have been using this with a usb 3.0 external SSD and I can say it is definitely working faster when transferring from internal storage to external. However the real issue there is how quick the internal source drives are. I'm using a raid controller and 8 internal drives to get enough bandwidth to nearly saturate the SSD on the usb 3.1 card. So yes the extra bandwidth is useful but not unless you have the disk speed to make it worth it. Also another benefit I've noticed is when add a usb 3.0 hub I can move data from external to another external and not see any loss of performance because of lagging bus. I did some digging around a a company is taking preorders for some nice usb 3.1 external products the company is startech sorry I can't embed an external link into this reply. Hope this helps

The Asrock Card has Issues with Sleep and Hibernation - If you run a USB 3.0 WiFi NIC as I do you will have issues coming out of sleep and hibernation
As to Windows 10 - I allowed upgrade to windows Ten and then Spent 5 hours recovering back to Win 7 64 bit - I believe the drivers are just not there yet while Win 10 recognized the asrock card nothing seemed to work  - especially the USB WiFi NIC

Interesting question, but I noticed that ASUS made their own PCIE USB 3.1 cards.  Although, ASUS has only one type of adaptor on their cards that newegg sells ( either a type A or type C adaptor card ) the advantage of getting a type A and C adaptor in the ASROCK PCIE USB 3.1 card certainly has it's appeal.  You could always try it and see, some people are already attempting this card on other manufacturers motherboards.  Whether or not it's fully compatible depends on the quality of the board and whether it's a fast enough motherboard.

Will this work on a x79 board?

Just checked the ASRock website and I couldn't find an X79 motherboard made by their company.  I believe this device only works on ASRock motherboards and I think they need to be the newer motherboards with the M.2 slots, since the data transfer rate on M.2 and USB 3.1 are both up to 10 Gbps.  I've installed mine on a 990 FX Killer Fatality (not the 3.1 version) motherboard and it works but I haven't clocked the transfer rates yet so I'm not sure if I'm getting 3.1 speeds since the motherboard has USB 3.0 ports. Probably wouldn't work with an older motherboard that has a max data transfer speed of SATA III at 6 Gbps, however I'm just guessing on that one since it is a PCI-E x4 board and should be capable of much faster speeds. Guess it all depends in the southbride speed for AMD boards, unsure about Intel based motherboards.
