I'm not sure what you mean by enabled.

If you are asking if windows is installed; no, it ships with the ubuntu distribution of linux.

If you are asking if you can install windows; I haven't tried but I didn't see anything to indicate you couldn't install windows (assuming you have a windows license).

The ubuntu version has worked great for us.  LibreOffice is pre-installed and hasn't had any problems working with Office files.

Are you able to use Face Book and Yahoo on this system?

You should be able to do anything you normally do except watch some videos as flash and some other mpg codecs are not standard, but you can still find a way to get these to work if you wanted to. Open Office works just like Microsoft office and is free as well.

So, to be clear, Facebook and Yahoo work perfectly fine, I have both and use both.

Question 3

I am new to Linux laptops, my reason for buying is to familiarize myself with Linux and install Postgres a databse that runs on Linux.

a) Is it Wifi enabled ?
b) Can I download and install products easily ?

I think your question is more specific to Linux than it is the laptop.  This model comes in two flavors; Ubuntu (Linux) and Windows 8.  This laptop has wireless, video-cam and Bluetooth hardware, supported by both OS.

Any OS transition is difficult (even within Windows) because we master one environment, then feel lost in a different environments (and it usually has no bearing on whether it's better or worse).  However, if you want to transition to Linux, it would be hard to argue that Ubuntu is the way to go.

You are on the right track to experiment with this model.  At this price, you can consider this laptop a dispensable throw-away, while at the same time an excellent investment in learning one of the best Linux distros in a very decent machine.

I am a technician who needed a "throw-away" pc to do field testing.  No regrets here.

Is this a 64bit OS?

64 bit yes.  FYI: This computer runs best with Win8 and/or Ubuntu.  Win7 not perfect (unlike Anthony S's experience)..

will the vga or hdmi port(s) support sending signal to analog TV?

I am not sure what you are asking, If your TV has a VGA or HDMI then it does not matter if it has a digital cable converter built in. If it does not have these cables then it will matter what type of conversion you use to get the signal to the tv.
