Do you have the quartz gray?

No. I went for the Blue. The blue with gold trim set it apart from anything else out there. I use a MAC Air at work (company owned). This thing just blows the Air away. It is lighter than the Air and way more powerful tool. Not a gaming machine mind you. But it has good solid performance. Once I am away from my day job, the ZenBook is my go to machine.

At $1700 shouldn't I at least get touch screen?

No . . . not everyone wants a touch screen.

What you get is stellar performance and touch pad that really works. A solid build with 16 GB ram and  processor that can crank up to 3.5 GHz when needed. . . not to mention a 866 megabit network card or a video card with the ability to power not one but two 4G monitors. All of this sitting on top of 2133 MHz bus.

Is the 16gb ram 8x2 or 16x1?

Almost all computers have RAM in pairs to have efficient access to the bus. Since this computer can be configured to a max of 16 GB of RAM, the question of 8x2 or 16x1 is moot.
