Does this product come with free windows 8.1 upgrade?

Windows 8.1 free upgrade applied and the only issue I had was with the wireless drivers.  I had to roll back to the last 64 bit windows 7
version otherwise the wireless lost sync every few minutes with my DSL modem.

Question 2

This looks like a great deal. Going to buy a laptop today. What scares me about this one is the battery life. 3.5? hours??? Isn't this short?

I'm a recent buyer, but If I were you, I will stay away from this product.  It has a good processor, the graphic can handle your basic video games, however, there are other flaws.  Some of the flaws are the battery life, it's short because maybe the processors require too much power. Another flaw is that the touch screen, LED, can died.  Mine died within less than a month, had to get it replace, But I should've refunded it.  Another flaw is that it looks and feel premium build, but actually it's more flimpsy.  The cd/dvd drives can move when you are holding around that area.  The sounds are underneath the desktop, which make no sense.

The only pro is the touch screen and processor for the price.

Im deciding between this and one more laptop..what are the speakers like on it?  There's no info on the page.  Also, how is the backlighting on the keyboard?

The speakers are adequate for a notebook computer, however my experience with notebook speakers is "limited" as I use an auxiliary speaker with tweeters and a woofer for superior sound.  In today's world, I would have some sort of "sub woofer" speaker to be "with it."
The lighted keyboard is nice if it is pretty dark, but if it is hard to see in "normal daylight."
Other than that, it rocks.

Does this laptop have Bluetooth? It says keyboard light does that mean it has a backlit keyboard or a light that shines on the keyboard?

It has Bluetooth. The keyboard is backlit. The light is under the keys.
