Curious about USB port spec?ifics. How many of what kind?

2 total USB ports. 1 USB 3.0 (blue color) and 1 USB 2.0. They are located on the left side of the keyboard next to the Ethernet port and hdmi port.

It is a bit slow when running more than 1 program at once. iTunes completely bogs down the laptop until you close it but it only takes 20-30 minutes to close it.

is this touch screen ?

It is not a touch screen; however the touchpad works like a touch screen.  The same gestures work on the touchpad as they would on a touch screen.  The ASUS Gesture tutorial software pre-installed on this laptop was very useful and easy to follow.

Yes. I love this lap top and have had no issues with it. Ive even gotten used to windows 8.

This includes a trial MS office for 30 days. Then you have to buy the full version.

This has pretty decent specs with the I5 proc and 4000 series video. My question is there is 4gig of RAM standard, but is that the max or is it 6 or 8 gig. I didn't see anywhere the max memory? Thanks.

4 is standard but it can be upgraded to 6 or 8

No, I contacted ASUS customer support and was told 'No'.  The drivers needed to run all the hardware devices are configured for Windows 8.  Hopefully, Windows 7 with the latest service pack should have all the drivers because I would like to downgrade to Windows 7.

Unfortunately I can't be specific because it was given to my son..

The only thing he has told me about this Notebook, was he really

liked it but he wasn't fawn of Windows 8, which was the OS...

This only has 1 expansion slot, the 4GB it comes with is built into the main board. The max memory that the expansion slot can hold is listed as 10GB on the crucial site:
