No, it is not a touchscreen and no on the Firewire also.  This is more an ultrabook with no optical drive and just an external video (HDMI), LAN (Ethernet) and two USB (one 2.0, one 3.0).  If you want Firewire, you will need a USB 3.0 adapter.

It does have wi-fi, I'm almost positive that it doesn't have bluetooth. It does run really well for me though!

Are you able to roll back the OS to Windows 7 ?

I did not try to roll back to the previous release of Win, but did try to install a secondary (XP) system in a new partition on the existing hard drive and use double boot to start XP. I did that because I have applications that can not run on Win8. I failed! Reason: the drivers I needed for this machine are not available on the XP platform. With Win7 you may have better luck, but I do know the details.

Being a very cautions pessimist I took a different approach on another laptop. I purchased a new hard drive, replaced it in the machine and installed the new system on the new drive in the machine  That way you have the original system AND the new system and should things fail you can go back to the original system. If you run the new system and you need data from the original system (say the D drive) you can install the original hard drive in an external enclosure and just use the D partition on the original drive as normal USB connected external drive.

Every laptop I have owned has been metal or aluminum, does the plastic on this feel like a good quality or is it cheap? Also does it work well for typing for a few hours on the chicklet keyboard?

Yes the computer does feel and look like good quality. I been pleased with it so far. Typing on the key board to me is OK. I have not done some extensive typing but i do know the space bar is touchy. you half to push it in just the right spot for it to work.
