Does this Notebook have a touch screen ?

This version is not touch screen, however the similar model the N550JV-DB72t has the same internal build but with the touch screen. This may cost more, at least it did a few weeks back, but looking at prices now they seem to be about the same.

Is this one the brand-new product?

Hi.  If you are asking if the item I purchased was brand new or used, I answer that I bought this product from Newegg and it appeared to be brand new, as it came in a sealed box with all internal packaging intact.  So there was no indication to me that it had been opened previously.

If you are asking if this product is brand new or the latest addition to the ASUS lineup, then I believe it is a relatively new model, circa mid 2013.  If you want to get more exact anecdotal info. on this laptop, I found the ASUS website and Google search very useful.  Good luck!

Is this model Bluetooth Compatible?

Yes this model is Bluetooth compatible. I have used my friends Bluetooth Mac Keyboard and it worked very well.

Is this laptop touchscreen and is the keyboard backlit?

It's not a touchscreen laptop, but it has keyboard backlit. However,  I don't know if this only happen to my laptop or not that there seems to be something under the left shift bottom, maybe the LED light, which makes me feel uncomfortable

Is this blu ray readable/writable? It shows on the pictures that it is, but the specs say otherwise. I know there is a version that is capable of reading and writing blu rays. If it's not this one, would you know which model that is?

Unfortunately this notebook does not come with a bluray drive. Not sure of the model number for the N56 version, although I believe it is N56JR-DS71. It can be hard to find even looking on the Asus web site. I would like to add the 1 TB 5400 Toshiba hard drive that comes with this notebook stinks big time. I had to replace it with a 1 TB Samsung Evo SSD which cost an additional $600. After upgrading the hard drive, I can say this is one fine machine. I also upgraded to 16 GB Gskill Ripjaws for a little more speed. Good luck!

Is the screen glossy or matte?

Not too sure if its matte as I dont wanna say yes and be wrong because ive never owned a matte screen laptop b4 but i have had no glare issues playing it day or night. Its a very nice comp with the backlights and moves fast. Prolly the best laptop ive had for the money it cost. Had a 10 percent off code so got it for about 915$ so used next day shipping. Well worth it!

Windows 8.1 - There are too many performance updates in Windows 8 to not choose it over 7 at this point. If you are not a fan of the Metro UI - You can always use 3rd party programs such as Start8 to negate all of them.
