Yes, left edge between the HDMI and power ports, spring loaded door opens to reveal an RJ45 connector. Springs shut to maintain the thin edge when not in use.

I just bought this pc and so far love it. Can anybody tell me how to turn on the backlit keyboard? Ad states it has three levels. Mine is off

Yes! Simply press and hold the "fn" key (down at the bottom left of the keyboard), then press F3 to decrease the keyboard brightness or F4 to increase the keyboard brightness to whichever of the 3 levels (or off) you prefer. You'll notice small illustrations on the function keys for reference.

Note: When starting up and logging in requiring a password, the keyboard won't light up until AFTER you type in your password (basically not until you reach your desktop).

anyone know if all 4 USB ports are 3.0?  i know it has 3.0 but wondering if they are all 3.0?

The 2 on the left are 3.0 and 2 on right side are 2.0. This is a great computer for the price. I have been gaming on it and it handles it no problem at 1920x1080 resolution on good graphics settings and its also fast start up time and plenty of storage. It doesn't get all that hot either. very solid build.

Hello,
I use this as my portable gaming machine on the go while keeping my desktop as my main rig.  This machine performs well for it's price point.
I have played World of Warcraft at native res and high settings mostly but turning off/low things like shadows to get a good 50 fps on average but it can go as low as 40 but as high as 90 fps.  It runs games like Fallout 4, native res with little sweat but I do not know the FPS, it was easily 40+.  I am still going to try Witcher 3 on it for good measure.

The screen is good, with nice colors and matte type.  weight and slim factor is a plus.  An important note too, the WASD keys and wrist area actually keep cool during game play, this was a huge thing for me.

Question 5

How is the cooling on this? I don't see any side vents but an with the hardware I would think that it would need one.

I game with mine and it doesn't get that hot. The hottest it has got was 70 C. But usually stays at about 60 C, especially now that I bought a cooling pad for it. If you are just surfing the web or doing something other than gaming it stays 30-40 C.
I use the cooler master notepal X2 cooling pad.

Does this product contain an internal DVD drive ?

I don't understand the the line "128GB SSD + 1TB/ 8GB Memory ".

Does that mean I have a 128GB SSD AND a 1TB HD?

and the system has 8GB of Memory?

Yep, it has a 128SSD (C drive) and a 1TB hard drive (D drive). I have one and that is what it has.

What color is the laptop lid? Is it dark blue, like the product specifications say?

It's a very dark blue, certain light will show more blue, certain light will show almost black.

Hello All, I consider to purchase this ASUS laptop. The fact that few customers have complained from having BSOD bothers me. What is the most probable reason for those crushes - OS, GPU or the SSD? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I haven't had any problems with mine at all and I have been gaming with it since I bought it a few weeks ago. it handles it no problem.
