Is this Windows 8 64-Bit or 32-Bit OS?

The laptop I received came loaded with Windows 8. Though the first laptop they sent me had an invalid product key and they made me send it back instead of just sending me a valid product key.

Does this notebook have Windows 8.1 installed?

No, however, it is free to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.

Be weary of the product, however, because my version of this computer came with a Windows 8 key that has now been banned by Microsoft. The key was OEM, straight from ASUS themselves. You will need the key to install Windows 8.1. I didn't learn about my key not working properly until I tried to reinstall Windows 8.

Question 3

Has anybody done any 3D gaming on it ? How is it ? Also I don't see it listed in the specs but does this laptop come with built in Bluetooth? I mean it seems way too advanced and feature heavy to leave out Bluetooth. Thanks in advance.

It does have Bluetooth built in, but haven't used it yet.  3D graphics are actually better than I expected--been able to keep a decent frame rate in FFXIV: ARR for the most part--anywhere from 30-60 FPS in 1080p Full Screen, depending on how much is going on.  In the heavily congested FATES it will dip under 30 FPS, but it still keeps around 24 or so.

Detailed scores on the Windows Experience Index: 7.8 CPU, 8.1 MEM, 7.3 for both Desktop and Gaming graphics (no Intel Graphics on this, it is ONLY the nVidia chip), Hard Drive is 5.9.  Ran a Furmark Full Screen 1080p benchmark (OpenGL) and it scored 981 at 17 FPS.

If you want to upgrade the memory, it has 2 slots--but you need to be careful when choosing the chips.  If you wind up on a lower latency SPD profile it may actually slow the memory down.  Mine came with PC12800 rated Hyundai memory on the mainboard (don't see a way to remove them).  It is using 11-11-11-28 timings at 800 MHz (PC1600 speed)--actually benched at just over 20GB/sec. with the WEI Winsat MEM test.  I got my hands on some PC1600 chips to try to expand it, but they defualted 9-9-9-24 at 685Mhz profile and slowed things down considerably (benched at 17GB/sec with winsat).  The BIOS doesn't have a way to select which SPD profile to use, so couldn't get them to run on their 800MHZ profile, even though it listed the same timings as the Hyundai chips.  Fortunately, they worked better in my daughter's laptop so it wasn't a complete loss.  If you are looking to upgrade memory, may want to install CPUID and look at the SPD profiles to make sure you get something with compatible timings.

All things considered though, for the price this thing is a BEAST of a laptop right out of the box.

I haven't used it plugged into an Ethernet cable yet, but it works great with the wireless Broadcom 802.11ac adapter.

Question 5

Is this laptop easy to upgrade to SSD?
Also will the price drop any lower for Black Friday or should I just get it now before it goes out of stock?

Honestly, I never even got to that stage. It was literally unstable/defective out of the box. It is sad to see that they are still selling these machines full knowing of all the negative feedback.

Solution: I spent 700 more and got a Dell m4800. It functions well as a work laptop as well as gaming with it's superior specs. I've had it for about 4 months now with no problems.

Can we get this laptop in Win 7 pro?

I honestly do not know the answer to that question. It was shipped with Windows 8.  It is built like a tank (typical for gaming laptops) and loaded with RAM and big hard drive.  It's upgradable for additional hardware such as more RAM and an SSHD (the more expensive models of this laptop have those additional bells and whistles).  It never gets hot. But then again I don't use it for gaming.  But even when compared to other leaner, flatter, "prettier" 17inch i7 laptops this thing stays way way cool. I actually just use it for video work (awesome display) website work and writing.  Saved myself $600 and up by purchasing this machine over prettier machines with the same guts.  The i7 is like jet fuel on this machine. Win 8 is an annoyance, but I've gotten used to it.  Hope this helps?

Question 7

Has anybody tried to install an internal enterprise hard drive? If so, which one?
I still have the stock 5400 RPM, I want to upgrade my hard drive.
Definitely want to get a 7200 RPM, if it can handle a 10,000 RPM or even 15,000 RPM… I just might get it.
I know a lot of people are that crazy over SSD's, I'm a quadriplegic… I cannot be replacing and SSD every year or so.

Maximum memory is 32 GB, what kind of memory sticks did you purchase? Would you have gotten different memory sticks from the ones you purchased?

I'm not too worried about price, my plan is to purchase one piece at a time…
Except for 16 GB of memory, replacing the 8 GB of stock memory.
Unless I can get all 3 sticks of memory playing nice at 1600 MHz.

Any feedback or help greatly appreciated.

Enterprise drives like the Velociraptor won't work in most laptops. 2.5" 10,000 and 15,000 RPM drives require 5 and 12 volts, just like any desktop drive. SSDs and normal laptop 2.5" drives only require 5 volts. Laptops only provide 5 volts on the sata power connectors, thus enterprise drives will not be able to function, even if they were to fit.

I would highly recommend adding an SSD and making the included drive a secondary. I got a Corsair Force 3 128GB SSD for mine and it worked out great. 10,000 RPM drives are pretty great, but they still can't come even close to the performance of an SSD. I also wouldn't worry about having to replace it on any regular basis; even a midrange SSD will last several years with a good amount of write cycles.

As for RAM, a set from a good brand like Corsair would be ideal. Mine came with 8GB of DDR3-1600, but the CAS latency on them is 11. Any stick you buy will likely be 9, which shouldn't really cause too much of an issue, just something to keep in mind.

What type of memory is shipped with this system?  I want to order additional memory when I order this system.  Also, can anyone recommend and SSD for this system?

it comes with 8 gigs (4 x 2) in slots 2 and 4. They located on another side of motherboard, I didnt look in too much but you might have to disassemble a lot to get to it, its a Mitsubishi brand with 1333 mhz. 
I use samsung 840 evo 120gigs, I really wish I purchased more space, but thats  upon  people wallet.
