Can you replace parts in this computer (Ram, Cpu, Graphics card, motherboard or anything else)?

I have been searching for an Asus ROG Tytan machine everywhere and Newegg is the only place apparently where you can buy a refurbished one.  However to my dismay there are only 3 negative reviews all complaining about having a 660 graphics card rather than a 680 even though it says on this page their is a 660 in the machine.. I don't care about this the 660 is still a great card. I don't think that warrants a one star review..
 - Has anyone had any actual problems with this machine??
 - Is there a reason why these machines aren't being built new??

The page used to say it was an 880, they changed it when people complained. Probably just a typo, but still kind of a major bait-and-switch if you ordered before the page was changed. I've had no real problems with the machine, it functions quite well, and has thus far dealt fine with every program I've thrown at it (Rome 2 Total War on Ultra, Rise of Flight maxed out, LA Noire maxed out, etc.). Still a pretty good buy, even if not what was originally advertised. I'm pretty sure the only reason they aren't made new is that ASUS has a new line of gaming desktops out, very similar design and features (sliding front panel, overclock switch) though.

Overall, worst computer buy I've ever made.  Returned product to NewEgg once, and Asus twice with multile problems...so dissatisfied I scrapped the unit for spare parts.  BUYER BEWARE, TERRIBLE PRODUCT, GET SOMETHING ELSE!!!

today is 7/14/14.   Has anyone received one of these units recently and, if so, was the operating system installed on the ssd or the hard drive?

Mine was installed on the SSD, but I know people who bought it at the same time as me that got it on the 3TB HDD - very random and problematic ..... bought last week

Which power supply is in this?

Good question, as it's not listed.  Most other ASUS computers with a similar configuration have 500 watt power supplies, but this could be slightly less (400 watts), and if so, one would need to up it to at least 500 watts to upgrade to an NVidia GeForce GTX760 video card.

What video card comes with this unit?

It's apparent that it comes with a NVidia GeForce GTX 660.  If the power supply is at least 500 watts in this computer (didn't look but think it might be) then it should be able to handle a GeForce GTX760, should one want to replace the installed video card.

Couple qs. 
Is OS (win 8) loaded on SSD or on 3TB HDD? 1 person said they had it on HDD, but i suspect this was a return related cause....anyone want to confirm it's on SSD?

Which version of win8? - sounds like home premium....64bit?

Lots of negative reviews, but this machine looks too good for the price to pass up. My last desktop was refurbished, and it's lasted me 5+ years now. This looks like something that will still be well above average even in 2 years. Thoughts?

I would avoid purchasing this computer. I purchased mine in mid April and it was dead on arrival, but this is not the reason I don't recommend buying.  I immediately contacted ASUS, where they put an RMA in place. I shipped it to their center in California where they received it on April 24th. I just received my computer back from them this past Friday June 13th after having to call them repeatedly to inquire what was taking so long.  The reps I talked to who were not located in California repeatedly told me they were waiting on parts. Nearly two months to get parts. They replaced both drives (SDD & HDD) and the power supply.  When I did finally receive the computer, they had installed the OS on the HDD instead of the SSD and they installed Windows 8 32 bit.  The computer originally came with 64 bit which is required to take full advantage of the installed components. For example, 32 bit will only utilize 4 GB of the installed 16 GB of RAM where 64 bit will use all of it. ASUS's solution is for me to send the computer back to them so they can install the correct OS. They refuse to just send me a disc to load the OS.  Because of this situation, I cannot recommend buying this or any ASUS computer.

Question 10

What is the temperature of the cpu? How hot does it run in idle and when stressed? I ask becuase mine idles at 38-42C and stressed at 55-65C

After updating drivers, i idle at about 40-50C and stress at 55-60... I think the max temp i've hit is still 62C after some moderate gaming.
