Question 1

How loud is this computer? I am hoping it is pretty quiet. Thank you.

everything is relative to the individual. i think it is very quiet. you can hardly hear the fan at all. the hard drive makes a little noise in the background, and it is running gently pretty much all the time.

it is blazingly fast, but i am having a little intermittent trouble with it not coming out of sleep mode correctly. sometimes it goes to a black screen and says it cannot find a boot device. you have to turn it off and back on.  i don't think it is the hard drive. i am thinking either a cabling issue or perhaps the BIOS or perhaps the computer is just too fast and cannot find the hard drive as soon as the OS wants to see it.

i have been meaning to contact ASUS about this but haven't gotten around to it yet. so far it has just been a minor annoyance.

Question 2

Does this computer have wireless and if so is it dual band?

No it doesn't come with wireless.  It has an Ethernet connector, so you can connect it by cable to a wireless router if the router is located near your PC.  But if your wireless router is in another room, as mine is, you will need a USB wireless adaptor to connect to your home network.

Question 3

If I add a powerful graphics card and an SSD drive, will the power supply be able to handle it?

NO! Not that the power supply is the problem because there is no room to fit a good graphics card.  I don't know too much about graphics cards but most good cards need two slots/ two levels but this computer only allows one unless you cut through metal.  Also the motherboard layout is bad because the RAM cards block the graphics card so you only have about 5-6 inches and most good cards are like 10-12 inches.

Question 4

Does the computer have a FireWire 400 (6 pin), or a eSATA port, if so how many?

Neither and no internal connection on Mobo for either.

You would need to add a Card if USB 3.0 is not available or fast enough for you.

Does this computer ship with a Windows disk for recovery/rebuild ?

If not, this is a deal killer.

There was no separate disk with my Asus but there is a D drive on the hard drive for recovery. You can burn your own disk from this drive if you prefer by hitting F9 when rebooting and making that selection. It says this area contains the OS, drivers and utilities.

How many PCI express slots are in this computer?   what size.. 16 bit, 32 bit ...  ??

What model motherboard?  What expansion slots?  The Newegg site says it has a PCI slot, but if this computer has an H61M motherboard, then it does not have PCI.  Which is it?

Does the motherboard have RAID capability?  How many SATA connectors are there on the motherboard?

No RAID 6 SATA connectors, two already in use (HDD+DVD). Video will support 2 monitors, but only VGA+HDMI, no DVI. I added a cheap video card for 2X DVI;

FWIW, this is my first machine in a LONG while that I didn't build up myself, and I've been quite happy with it so far. But it was at $650 when I bought it. Still seems like a good deal at $779, though.

Is the RAM expandable to 32GB?

I have two 8gb ram, and there are only two slots. So if you want to expand to 32gb you have to buy two 16gb RAM.
