ASUS Laptop G Series G2Sg-A1 Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.50 GHz) 4 GB Memory 320 GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT 17.0" Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Pros: Great components for the price (much less than other high end laptop makers would sell it for trust me I compared them all.) Comes with nice mouse and back pack. Plays demanding games very well with fairly high settings Ie World in Conflict, Company of Heores etc etc

Cons: My laptop has pretty bad backlight bleeding that is a bit annoying when looking at the desktop. Not very noticeable when gaming or websurfing. 3D Mark '06 score was rather low. Out of 5 benchmarks the highest was 4500 on DX9. 3D mark Vantage DX10 scored about 1500. I don't know alot about laptop benchmarking but compared to some other laptop benchmarks I found online these seemed like low scores. I wonder if the low score has something to do with vista ultimate 64?

Overall Review: Wish this laptop was available with XP Pro. I have had no problems with Vista so far but I am still not sold on it.

Pros: 1900x1200 and an 8700 to back-it up. Vista Ultimate 64bit (see other) Solid design, Excellent software, and superb processor. The mouse is the best on the market. Mine came with a backpack, but it no longer shows the backpack in the picture, so just be warned of that. Hands down, I would have paid double the price and still not have complained. You need not look any farther, your future is here.

Cons: Micky mouse cable, (outlet to power brick cable), is short, not a problem just pick another up for a dollar. After I installed Vista sp1 some things went a-rye. Not Asus's fault though, just don't install it. (64bit services do not like some of the new things added to the SP1 family, all Asus's software does work under SP1)

Overall Review: For all you cats who are wondering, it is VISTA ULTIMATE 64BIT. I have seen many children fighting over weither or not they can see the 4th gig, you can. It is pre-service pack 1. Some advice for people worried about the 5400rpm drive. Upgrade drive to a 7200 200gb hard drive of your choice, (sata only), and get an enclosure for the 320 it comes with. It makes the experance more smooth, and speeds your start up time.

Pros: Excellent 1080 Screen. I can't think of any problems. I'm using Vista Ultimate. I dumped my Dell for this product and as long as ASUS continues to build this kind of quality, I say good-bye to DELL after 20 years of using their products.

Cons: Documentation is only fair. Some programs have to be re-downloaded for Vista Ultimate but no problem. When installing don't for get to get the other disk and install the drivers for the little things.

Overall Review: I bought a 160 Gig Hitachi 7200 hard drive for it. Transferred the data with Apricorn EZ UP. Tested the temp and it isn't but 2 degrees higher. The 7200 HD makes a worthwhile difference.

Overall Review: For everyone who is confused. This is a 32bit AND 64bit laptop. I know it sounds wierd, but here is the scoop. If you hit the top power button closest to the screen it will boot with 4096mb or 4gig of ram. It starts up with a animatied logo. To boot into 32bit or 3gig mode, hit the power button in the media control panel closest to the bottom of the laptop. You will see play, pause, next, and rewind. This will show a multicolored logo, this is 32bit mode. To everyone who is confused, no one was acually wrong, but a bit of confusion. Truely a enginerring marvel!

Overall Review: First of all, this is not a bash feast, take a nicer tact, and ask for help if you need it. Second, it IS 64bit and you do see the 4th gig. Third, to everyone else. Just because he was wrong is not a goo reason to name call or insult him, everyone makes mistakes.

Pros: 8700 - soooo much faster than the 8600, you won't believe it. t9300 - it is more than just 100mhz more... the new Penryn processor have 2mb extra cache (total 6), and is gloriously more power efficient, that it nets laptops 10% better battery life. So much more than "just 100mhz more..." 4gb - nice One super sturdy laptop. Confident that it will last.

Cons: Asus still can't get a laptop with good battery life... but hey, what do you expect from a 17" with an 8700, the biggest power drain available (the 8800m is more power efficient)

Overall Review: Asus always includes a mouse and a case with its stuff. bless em. they rock.

Pros: Now with Vista Ultimate! 2 weeks ago this shipped with Vista home for some reason according to the specs, might of been a mere typo but somehow lam not too sure. Anyways Vista Ultimate with 4gigs! Great buy! You will pay almost double the price for the same hardware if you go with Dell-einware.

Overall Review: "I'm looking at the HDD speed. Have you noticed any huge reduction in speed compared to what a 7200 would be?" You would notice decent speed increase when transferring files,loading your apps, etc, its an extra 1800 rpms of course your going to notice a difference, but if your a pateint person and don't mind that extra min on the loading screen then this does not apply to you

Pros: In any 32 bit OS will only use 3.3gigs of the 4gb of ram, showing that it detects the 4gigs of ram is merely display. You will need a 64 bit OS in order to actually use the full 4 gigs So next time maybe YOU might want to do some research before making yourself look like an idiot ;)
