The Titanic of Computers. 6/12/2017 3:45:52 PM

Pros: - Beautiful, Small footprint, small system.
-

Cons: - Where to begin...
- 8.1 issues after the free update to 10.
- system required a flush and clean install oh 4 times in its short life.
- The motherboard burned out at the 1 year 6 month from the date I received it.
- Apparently, no one at Asus can tell me what board it used to replace it.

Overall Review: - An $800.00 paperweight, avoid at all cost.

Neat looking case with failure-prone components 1/3/2017 8:48:01 AM

Pros: - The case is neat looking, if you can find the power button in the first 5 minutes of use.
- The volume knob on the keyboard is handy
- The keyboard lights up

Cons: - The hardware fails A LOT. Expect a blue screen on boot, random reboots, or a lockup every few minutes. Cannot use for more than 30 minutes.
- Memory (RAM) goes bad pretty easily, resulting in memory related blue screen errors from the BIOS.
- Graphics adapter or GPU output is very bad on one of four of our machines. Framerates of software were 80fps+ on 3 machines, but 3 - 6fps on a fourth.
- Computer gets really hot after extended use.
- There are two power bricks and cords for this computer, maybe the wattage of the PSU is too low?
- The keyboard keycaps are maybe single shot ABS? They fade after a few months of use.
- The mouse is light and flimsy, and will start to creak in your hands.

Overall Review: I bought four of these for my company. We took them to a conference in 2015 to demonstrate software. Three were used, and one for backup. We ended up using the backup, having to shelve one completely, due to random reboots and blue screens. Maybe bad memory? Another machine we had to keep on for a max of 45 minutes because it got so hot. It was embarrassing to run a fan on a computer constantly.

If you would like a computer riddled with hardware and component issues, this is for you.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for writing a positive comment for the product. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. If you are experiencing blue screen of death and overheating issue, you may need to make sure WINDOWS Update are installed. This will update the power management services within the OS and will improve heat generation. Also, by removing unwanted programs and turning off startup services in the Task Manager, it will minimize the load needed to run the system. If there's less load, less heat will be generated. If you need further assistance with the product, please If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than glad to help.

Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.

Love this computer 8/21/2016 2:40:11 PM

Pros: - Engineered and built with high quality parts
- Unique Look
- Super fast

Cons: - Limited expandablity
- Although the system runs cool to spec, it's not that cool (ie. if you built the same computer in a bigger case with more fans it would run cooler)

Overall Review: Before I bought this pc I owned a HP m7674n media center pc. I remember getting the whole thing for $1k with printer and monitor when I was in college. Although very old by today's standards, the thing lasted me a long time - 10 years.
Anyway I was thinking for a while of building my own pc and then stumbled upon the ROG g20. After seeing some videos of how this thing is built I decided to buy it, with my reason being that I am not a computer engineer, and to build something this powerful in such a small form factor requires serious work. So if I'm gonna buy a prebuilt PC I want one that was engineered to perfection - not something with good specs but built with cheap parts - as most prebuilt PCs seem to be. This was a big deal to me because I felt that that my previous HP would actually have lasted longer if it had a better power supply and fans.

Once I got this computer set up it was lightning fast. It's pretty quiet, not the quietest computer you can buy for the money but the noise never bothers me. I'm not a gamer, I use it to record music however with Cubase. I don't game but I do tax the system running 16 channel music recordings and don't seem to have problems.

The only problems I had with this computer was when I was trying to get the Eco Energy mode working. However I don't care because it's only using 100 watts of power most of the most of the time without it. I didn't upgrade to WIn 10, I'm using 8.1 and I think it's pretty cool. Sometimes the updates take forever but other than that I don't have much to complain about.

As most reviewers will tell you - if you are already skilled at building a pc then you may want to look elsewhere. There is not much expandibility, limited USB slots and overall you gotta have a good reason for a small form factor to get this.

For me there are no problems with this computer. Don't really get why there are many negative reviews about this computer. It is expensive because it has quality parts and like I said that is something important to me. You can get better specs for the money but I doubt better quality parts then what's in this thing. I believe if something is not working right with this it is most likely a software issue.

Do not buy this under any circumstances 7/3/2016 1:05:49 PM

Pros: None

Cons: I've had it since March and am sending back for repairs for the 3rd time since May. That's right. Three times in three months. Customer service is awful. They don't fix the machine and they don't even tell you what was wrong with it. Spend a little more and get something that works. Or better yet, spend less and get something that works. I am buying a new gaming PC and writing this piece of junk off. DO NOT BUY. For the love of Gos, DO NOT BUY

Good at First then.... 5/4/2016 5:01:38 PM

Pros: Good for the first couple of months.

Cons: - had problems with the video card after 6 months, started working again for another 7 months but now every game I play I get some type of error, if its not one thing its another. I fix the problems myself as time goes on but building your own PC could be way more efficient and maybe even cheaper than buying this rig.

Overall Review: I would not recommend this product to ANYONE.

buy at your own risk, there are many other good pre-built rigs out there.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Dwayne,

I apologize for the inconvenience if you started getting system error with the unit. A recent automatic WINDOWS Update might need to update the chipset and video drivers if the unit is running with older versions. Also, the BIOS may need to be update. Updates for the unit are posted at the ASUS Support website for download. If the problem persists, you may need to do a System Restore. If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than glad to help.

Nice paper weight..... 4/22/2016 7:31:50 PM

Pros: cool looking machine.

Cons: This computer and the company selling it is junk. I bought this primarily to use as a work computer with occasional gaming. Gaming was nothing special and for a gaming computer it had a surprisingly hard time handling the demands for civilization V. I have now owned this computer for about 6 months. At month 5 i started receiving a bunch of errors related to BIOs issues and the computer was running very poorly. I tried a system restore on it to see if that would help and it did not. Today I brought it to a computer tech I know that repairs computers for the company I work for and he advised me that the computers power supply appears to have failed as it no longer turns on. For the small amount of stress and demand that I required from this computer I am impressed with the poor quality.

Overall Review: I ADVISE YOU READ THE REVIEWS AS I DID NOT THOROUGHLY and strongly recommend you steer clear of this company so you do not suffer the disappointment as myself and so many others

So far so good 4/15/2016 3:18:35 PM

Pros: - small case
- powerful
- okay admit it, the LEDs are cool
- was on sale. good price for an i7

Cons: - bulky power solution
- no customization options. Not even from manufacturer.
- small case means components are packed in. Lot of work to add any thing like an SSD or more RAM, so I left it alone

Overall Review: I'm not using it as a gaming rig, so hopefully I wont run into some of the problems experienced by others. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive i7 computer. I trust ASUS. I have a large high power ASUS tower at work. Would be nice to be able to order it with an SSD, but boot up is still fast, and Photoshop opens in under 2 seconds. It's powering a 34" curved display, and they look great together.

I'll keep you posted (if I'm allowed to edit my review)
