Can this be upgraded at all?

Yes, you can buy either another 8G Ddr4 3200 or you can just buy 8*2 to replace the original one. For storage, it has a extra HDD SATA cable, but not sure if there is also a HDD power Cable. You might have to buy a power cable yourself .

It is the reference version with a blower. Heat is an issue as there is only one exhaust fan on the case.

what is the little flap on the top left front for?

Hanging your headphones, apparently.

Am I able to install another m.2, ssd?

Not internally. There are no other M.2 slots on the motherboard and no internal hard drive caddie's. I went with a 4TB WD external drive for my games.

What motherboard brand and model does this unit have?

It is an Asus board with B450 chipset. It is a budget board that does not have expansion slots, nor can it be bought outside of this build.
