Not out of the box but I needed that capability so I simply added a video card that would take care of that.

Hi, not totally comp illiterate but close.  Always purchased from stores but now on fixed income.  I saw about no software as in Office?  Don't care if it has wordpad so I can write a letter here and there and one can download Adobe etc.  Plus I have a couple monitors.  Just paid way too much to a tech so as not to run that route again can somebody help me out?  I have no idea if the store deals put their own software in or what and I just want to DL movies and write occasionally.  Also where do I get a book telling me what MUI means and certain other letters so as not to get ripped off by a tech again?  Thanks so much!!!

Almost no PC comes preloaded with Microsoft Office anymore. You can download Open Office  for free (openoffice dot org) and just save the file as a .doc which is the same thing. It really is the same thing, just free. As for what MUI means, that stuff you just need to use google for (or your favorite search engine). It looks like it means multilingual user interface, although I've never heard that term before.

Will I be able to connect my internet service via wireless  and are most monitors universal?

No, Desktop PC's do not include wireless connections. But, Newegg sells a USB wireless adapter for around $20 that will give you that connectivity.

And, the answer to your second question is also No. There are three popular connections for video output to a monitor. VGA is usually a blue plug with 15 pins set in three rows. This is an analog connection. The next one is usually white and is called DVI. It can have several pin configurations and is a digital connection. And the third is a standard HDMI TV connection. This has two of those three. Most add on video cards around $25-$50 will have all three if you need other than those two.

What software besides Windows and McAfee is preloaded?

Standard software from Asus. Software that they feel will help you but does not. We just uninstalled it and the systems work great with no problems.

Windows 7 and introductory to McAfee antivirus.  You will have to install your own Office, any other browsers, PDF readers, etc.

This says it has a SuperMulti DVD RW... Does it not write CDs then?  Usually see DVD±RW/CD-RW

Dumb question I know, but serious...does this thing have a stupid light that will flash all through my room at night?  I HATE that on my current Dell.

You have 2 working lights on the PC,  One one the disk burner on top and one on the power button.  Power button light on continuous and burner when working.
