Is this a good computer for photo editing? If so, what monitor do you suggest I get with it?

This computer is great for photo editing. I am a graphic designer and do some photo editing also. The computer handles all of my software perfectly fine. You might not need this much power if your only doing photo editing, but it definitely wont hurt. I purchased an Acer G246HLAbD 24" monitor. Its nothing to fancy, but its a great monitor for the price.

This tower makes a loud whoosh sound right when the pc powers on, then after about 5 seconds it becomes extremely quiet

upgrade 16 to 32 g by adding 22 g ram sticks. machine does not accept the additional ram, is there a bios update to make this work?

Are you able to burn CDs and DVDs in the blu ray drive that comes with this?

I have never tried to burn a bluray beforeon this computer.  I use it mostly for graphic design and for CADD

The only thing I use my desktop for, outside of day to day tasks, is HD video editing and I do a fair amount using Pinnacle 15 and includes 1080p.  Is this an appropriate desktop for this type of editing?

While this PC meets the specifications required for Pinnacle software and has an HDMI input, my personal opinion is that you are paying for features you don't need.  The NFC and Qi are some of the selling points of this PC.  I love the PC but I think your money may be better spent on something more dedicating to video editing, such as  something in the Apple line.  Having said that, if you were to purchase this PC, it will definitely be able to handle your editing needs.

Question 7

I need the use of 3 monitors.  Is it possible to include an additional  dual video card?  I do not need the keyboard and mouse.  Can that be eliminated from this package?

There is no space inside for an expansion card.  The box has one HDMI and one DisplayPort, so a dual monitor setup should be no problem.  Otherwise you can split one of the signals so that you have multiple identical monitors.

I'm sorry if this was answered in the specs, i might not have seen it but;

Is the SSD the primary drive?
Or is it using the Intel Smart w/e technology and showing up as 1 drive where the SSD is used for caching.
It says "1TB HDD + 8GB SSD Hybrid Drive" not sure what Hybrid Drive means, I'm assuming the above.

What kind of CPU cooling is present? air/liquid

Is the memory two 8Gb sticks? or four 4Gb?

No, the SSD is just a cache for the HHD (wikipedia "Hybrid Drive"), it is not user accessible for storage.

The CPU cooling is air.

The memory is two 8Gb sticks - I believe there are only two slots in this machine, no spares.

How well would this computer fare for audio recording, video editing, and gaming?

The gtx 650 is a entry level gaming card so it should be able to play modern games at med settings @ 1080p. GPU enhanced Video editing will work fairly well.

This unit has a very limiting 300W PSU that appears to be of proprietary design (due to internal UPS) So future upgrades will be limited by the small PSU.

The CPU on the unit is excellent and should do well for audio recording and everyday tasks.

This computer is marketed as a home entertainment and media PC. It is geared for Blu-ray playback (both 2D & 3D) entry level gaming and light duty video creation / editing.
