Pros: Bright and vivid colors, blacks, and whites. Details are sharp and crisp. NO motion blur or image ghosts even in high speed FPS games (Quake, Doom, Battlefield, etc). Not a single bum pixel or other defect. Several standard color adjustment modes accessible with a single button. Nice, clean, modern case appearance with very small footprint. Easy set-up and go right out of the box, used included DVI cable and did not need to do any additional configuring or driver updating with my once-great, now ancient BFG 6800 Ultra OC video card.

Cons: Text fonts look funny at any resolution lower than the native 1920x1200. I like the native resolution but my wife prefers larger text so this annoys her. Probably a way to fix it but I am too obsessed with playing my favorite games on this baby to waste a minute figuring it out. The menu system for making adjustments outside the standard presets is a bit awkward with a lot of button fumbling involved, but not too bad once you catch on.

Overall Review: Took me a long time to go flat-panel because I could not stand the image blurring and ghosting I could see in fast games on 5ms and even 3ms monitors. But my beloved Sony 24" widescreen CRT finally bit the dust so I gave this Asus a try. The crisp images, vivid colors, and fast 2ms response will satisfy even the most demanding FPS game players. I did not really shop around much so I cannot speak about the price, but I am 100% satisfied with the quality of this monitor. To hell with my wife, all she does is email and Webkinz on it anyway.

Pros: No dead pixels! Thank you. This thing is just awesome. The colors look magnificent. I came from a 21 inch CRT and this thing is just drop dead gorgeous on my desk. Empire Total War at 1920X1200 what more can you ask. It also has a true 1:1 mode for 1080p without distortion, albeit with black bars on the bottom of your screen. You have to select that in the menus. It's perfect for PS3 games or blu-ray movies. Just make sure your games are 1080p, because if it isn't, 720 for example, will show up in a small box in the middle of the screen. Killzone 2, yes, I am talking about you. If that happens then you can switch it back to full for full screen, but with distortion. I can't even notice it thought to be honest. And you can definitely use the headphone jack on it to connect your PC speakers or headset when gaming on the PS3

Cons: Okay so maybe the black levels aren't that good. Even at the lowest brightness setting it's still a bit grey. But really I am comparing it to my Sony XBR7 which was professionally calibrated. Is that really a fair comparison? The menu buttons are also seem a bit flimsy. As if using them too much will break em. ASCR is terrible, don't use it.

Overall Review: If I had more money than sense I would also have this ISF calibrated. It will really make the PQ so much better. The dead pixels were the only thing stopping me from making this purchase earlier. I made half the mind just to purchase from a brick and mortar store. Just so I can return it at the sight of 1 dead pixel. But I decided to roll the dice. Thankfully I was lucky and didn't have any. I would have you know that ASUS warranty covers less than 5 dead pixels, better than Newegg RMA policy. It says so in the manual. Also remember that people who have dead pixels, and are quite upset, are more likely to write a review here than people who don't have them. So the sample here may not be representative of the population. Self-selection bias from college statistics class, remember? Finally make sure you have to computer muscle to run 1920x1200 or else you'll get distortion, unnoticeable it may be. It's still there. And you'll think about it because I've told you.

Pros: I love this monitor. The 2ms response time is killer for gaming. Viewing angle is better than any monitor I saw in the store. It's just the right size too - I tried a 25.5 monitor and it was just too big. I also love that the color is consistent from top to bottom - many models I looked at it'd be lighter the lower on the screen you got. I sit more below my screen than most, so it was a concern for me when purchasing a monitor. But this one has no angle issues at all.

Cons: There's a tiny bit of backlight bleed. I saw some models this size that had none at all. Also, it won't rescale resolutions automatically. So for example, Starcraft only runs in 640X480. Many monitors will run it with black boxes on either side rather than stretching it, and do so automatically. This monitor won't do that. But this is easily corrected with NVidia or ATI's software that comes with their video cards.

Overall Review: The webcam works but it has issues. Just expect to spend some time getting it working right. Don't expect it to work out of the box.

Pros: This is a very well priced monitor. Has all the input ports you could ask for. Does full 1080p resolution. Amazing picture.

Cons: The webcam isnt the greatest quality. Someone posted a comment that it would not work with vista 64bit. That is not true. I have vista 64bit and worked right out of the box. No drivers necessary.

Overall Review: The description doesn't mention that the monitor has built-in Mic. It located right next to the camera.

Pros: I was recently given a retired Dual 2ghz Power Mac G5 machine (my desktop previously consisted of two Quadcore W2k3 machines and a Core2 Shuttle running on 2 monitors, both which came from Newegg. The versatility, performance and price of this fantastic Asus monitor is outstanding. It is certainly the best value around. It out-performs the Apple 24" which sells for nearly 3x the price. Not a single dead pixel, either. The Mac recognized it (DVI) right off, and the VGA port is now shared by the two Quad-core boxes via a kvm switch. I hope they keep making these things.

Cons: For a 24" $279 monitor with *these* features? You must be kidding! I should probably whine about the manual and the chintzy "webcam" software, but then I'd be like... whining about the stickers...

Overall Review: I used a VESA mount and fabricated a stand that lets this tall (real height is 19.5") baby fit under the shelf of my Ikea "Jerker" control center. The 100mm VESA mount is under the round cover on the back of the monitor and the stand mount can be removed by removing the 4 screws that connects the arm to the screen. Happily, they also fit the VESA screw sockets. If you have the headroom to use the beautiful pedestal, don't lose that little chrome screw that anchors it to the base and is packaged loose in the power cord compartment of the box. This monitor is even *better* than sliced bread! You simply can't lose with it. I need another one for stereo.

Pros: -Brightness is a nice plus, colours, games, photos, and movies are more vivid. Dimness never helped nobody! -Big! This is fabulous for gaming. It's just the right size that you don't have to lean back to play, but it gets you a stellar view and 1900x1200 resolution. -Camera is mostly fluff, but isn't all that bad. Same quality as the laptops I've owned, and it does the trick.

Cons: -Only annoyance has been navigating the auto-resize and other functions in the menu. The power on/off button is also a bit sticky at times.

Overall Review: Best monitor I've owned, though my last three weren't exactly AAA brands.

Pros: The screen looks great for the most part.

Cons: I have two dead pixles on my screen right out of the box. The company does not have a 0 dead pixle policy, which makes me regret shopping with ASUS. I feel somehow OCD about these two pixles, they keep staring me in the eye and laughing at the months of saving for this monitor and the huge amount of time that i was hoping to buy a new one. I issued an RMA and it was approved, but then i realized that Newegg has an 8 dead pixle policy, so i'm not going to send it back. Even more annoying, if i wanted to send it back, Newegg would still be charging me shipping, on what i consider an upsetting buy. Ill buy my next LCD from a retail store that has a reliable return policy, this experience has made me doubtful of online shopping; although i have spent thousands online already and been fine in the past. (Pixle locations are too centered to be ignored.)

Overall Review: Buyer beware, buy from a more reliable brand then ASUS check the return policy they have, and make sure they don't cheap you out. LCD's are not online buys in my opinion anymore.

Pros: Big, Bright, and Clear. The price is right as well... Screen is NOT glossy (I hate glossy screens). Matte finish around bezel that faces you (fear of fingerprints was one of the things that kept me away from a Samsung). Great viewing angle. No dead pixels. Great for games, insanely awesome for programming.

Overall Review: After reading tons of reviews on newegg, I was a bit concerned that the screen would be cheap/low-end (especially considering the price), that the color would not be consistent, and that the viewing angle would be poor. My fears were completely unjustified. I have no backlight bleed, the colors are vibrant, and it looks great overall. The extra 120 pixels in height over a 1920x1080 monitor is great for Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc. I ran the monitor diagnostic tool in Everest. The only test it wasn't perfect on was the color consistency test (an orange screen). The top half of the screen is darker than the bottom. Even knowing this, I cannot notice it anywhere else, and I've looked very hard. The only people I would caution about this is somebody who does digital art stuff for a living. If you aren't an EXTREMELY picky professional artist, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! Seriously, you will never notice. Ever. This screen is awesome. Buy it. Actually, buy two! You won't regret it!
