Any software included with product?

No - I do not recall any software. Apparently, this Blu-Ray writer is a, "Plug and Play." Though, I think you, may, need, additional software, whether, freeware, or purchase, (or perhaps your computer, already has, Blu-Ray capability), to deal with, process, Blu-Ray related issues. Blu-Ray is new to me. This unit has worked fine, for me, and has made some good quality discs. I hope this answer is helpful to you. If not, please ask again.

Can you install windows 10 to a desk top with this? if not recommended an asus one plz

I think it works like any optical drive. It reads and it also writes. If you are asking if you can use this external disc drive to install Windows 10, from an installation disc, my answer would be., yes. This external disc drive would help you to read the information from the Windows 10 installation disc, and, together, with your computer, the installation would proceed normally.

Where is the eject button located? (top, front)

Top right (arrow in picture) accessible fromfront and top of unit. Even ifyou usestand the same applies.this ASUS is terriffic and does everything well.

Is this compatible with USB 2.0? In other words, and older desktop.

Yes.  I have this BD player connected to a USB 2.0 connection on my computer.  It works beautifully.

Question 5

My internal DVD drive doesn't work at all.  My Windows 7 Pro gets BSOD.  I need to reinstall my o/s.  I don't like slow drives and I also want Blu-Ray functionality and scalability in the future. Immediately, I need an external USB drive to reload Windows and a decent cost.  Once I get up and running, I have a lot of movies to burn.  I know this may be overkill to purchase it, but I'm thinking now and future use.  Thoughts?

Not so sure about this product being overkill.  If it doesn't have write errors, then you get a better product than with the others, which might have a problem there.

Also, writing blu-ray or RW disks takes quite some time and you really don't want to use the PC while doing that.  So it speeds up that process and you can work online again sooner.

While I haven't used it as much as I thought, it has done everything I wanted so far.

Can I use the BD burner without the power cable? Could it be powered by the USB port alone, or is the power cord a must?

I just verified on mine. It needs the power cord. But it's a fantastic burner. Best one we have had and we've been buying burners since 1996.

Question 7

Does it satisfactorily play rental or store bought DVD and BluRay movies with digital rights management and copyright protection, and does it play rental disks that aren't in the best shape?  In the past, I tried playing rental DVD movies on a computer R/W player where it worked intermittently, although the same rental disk played fine on a cheap external DVD player of the type made for movie playback only.

I have tested this with quite a number of discs and it seems to work quite well. Keep in mind that BDs are more resilient than DVDs and more difficult to scratch. You may experience trouble with an extensively distressed DVD (as you would in any player). This player is great...even works with BD Live content.

Recommend using a descent playback software suite, as this will be the determining factor that "makes or breaks" how you like BD playback on your computer.

The software bundled with this drive is nothing more than a driver, so adding playback software is a MUST.

Can i connect it to a TV?

I doubt it will work plugged into a TV.  This unit is for connecting to a computer, and uses/compatible with computer operating systems such as Windows 8.1, etc.

Question 9

Does this model read,write.play and burn blu ray disc.And is it compatible with windows 10 ?

It will read and write/burn Blu-ray disks. If by "play" you mean play direct to TV, I don't recall it having any connections for that. It will burn disks to play in a standard player, and play standard movies on a Mac. I don't have any experience with it on windows 10.

Question 10

My  computer's internal DVD doesn't work. I need to reinstall O/S, but I also want new functionality and scalability as I go to Windows 10.  I know I could probably get a cheapter external DVD drive to reinstall the O/S, but I also want speed and once I'm up and runnng, I have a lot of movies to burn.  Thoughts?

Speeds are average for burning, unless you are burning blu-rays.  I am very pleased with the drive as a whole.  I am running windows 10 and I have ripped a few of my blu-ray movies to move to a tablet.
