Pros: -Price, price, price: This is hands down one of the best deals for a laptop. The ratio of power to cost is rather high -Plenty of power behind it; it can play TF2 and WoW at full settings and still maintain framerates of 50+ with other programs running in the background. Also benchmarks well with Windows, as someone else has posted. - Full keyboard with numpad -x64 OS - Blu-Ray drive - Construction is sturdy

Cons: - It gets rather hot, but that's to be expected with most notebooks in this hardware category - The left and right click function are on either side of a single button, and clicking is a bit loud. - Finish likes to pick up smudges and fingerprints (the included cloth does a good job of cleaning them, however) - Lots of bloatware - A bit heavy

Overall Review: - The screen has a glossy finish The good far outweighs the bad on this. It's an incredibly hard deal to beat, and it's worth every penny.

Pros: This is the best bang for your buck on a gaming laptop/desktop replacement. Fast, fast, fast! Dual harddrives, set up in raid 0...Blueray! WOW! I used to buy HP...no more!

Cons: Getting the bluray software to work was a nightmare. BEFORE you load the software, update direct X to the latest version, and it will be seamless. Took a few hours of google to find this out.

Overall Review: Register your laptop within 60 days, and ASUS give you a drop, spill, surge, fire warranty for a year, on top of the 2 year warranty it comes with. Nobody offers that type of security and comfort in a laptop purchase. Qualifies for the windows 7 upgrade for free!

Pros: Very good value for the money. Couldn't touch it at any of the large name brand direct sellers. My son an I bought it for college. Kept telling him it would be heavy to lug around. He didn't care he was all about gaming, and he was very satisfied. (Wish I could change that focus) I haven't built a computer in the last 10 years without an Asus board, and this laptop lived up to my expectations of Asus

Cons: Did not have the 802.11bgn wireless as stated in the Newegg specification. Asus site says it will be 802.11 bg OR 802.11bgn (bummer but not a deal killer). In all the years and thousands of dollars spent at Newegg this is a first. Never trust marketing do your own due diligence. The Blue Ray DVD player did not work at all, but was easily fixed by following the advice at the ASUS support web site (takes a little digging, and a clean install of software). Then of course the usual bloatware.

Overall Review: This was not an impulse buy. We have been looking for months comparing and evaluating. We knew what we were buying and got exactly what we expected except for the wireless, which is what cost it one egg. A great deal, only other company comparable, but I trust ASUS. Contemplating buying another to replace my aging inspiron.

Pros: The system is very fast and comes with a lot of great software features to take advantage of the camera and internet. It has a great picture on the screen also.

Cons: The blu-ray drive is very loud and doesn't play DVD's It skips and sometimes error's out. Been on the phone with ASUS and so far it's been 20 minutes of being on hold.

Overall Review: If the Blu Ray drive would of worked it would of gotten a 5 star from me. I am still learning all the great features but now have to worry about the blu ray.

Pros: Very nice, large screen. Pretty quick start-up, runs plenty fast and not too hot. Ran Maya and a number of high rez videos with no problems. Good sized keyboard; I'm terrible with most little laptop keyboards, but not this one. Great service both online and on the phone.

Cons: Tons and tons of bloatware you dont need, though it was easy enough to remove. It would just be nice if they gave you an option to not install it. Also, quite a heavy laptop, but for the screen size its understandable.As mentioned in another review, the WinDVD disc didnt work, but after just a few minutes on the phone with the nice 24/7 tech support they got me a new, working copy.

Overall Review: Totally just a personal preference, but the outer shell of the laptop has a very glossy finish that picks up finger prints and junk extremely easily. A matte/soft touch finish wouldve been awesome.

Pros: The screen is very nice. This laptop is really really fast. I moved from a Quad Core Desktop to this Dual Core Laptop, and it performs spledidly. The Facial Recognition is AWESOME!!! The keyboard was a nice touch to it, and I enjoy having a full size number pad. The video is plenty fast for gaming, or even some 2D Cad and 3D modeling work. Watching Blue Ray movies is great. (Real 16:9 Display.) Wireless N .. I get 240 meg links in the farthest room from my N Router/AP. Can run two additional Monitors (one VGA and One HDMI). I really enjoy that. The included case not only hold this laptops large size, it also has room to store extra items in it as well.

Cons: The finish smudges easy. No Firewire built in, and it's not a 640 gb hard drive (as mentioned in previous reviews) it's two 320, and those are split into 2, so you have 4 partitions. (When Win 7 Comes out I'll fix that.). No Raid Capability. The Nvida Turbo Cache is not tweakable in Vista, so you lose a gig of memory from that. The sound did not work out of the box, had to change the drivers. The trackpad jumps sometimes. I wish it had two seperate buttons for the mouse as opposed to one big button that presses on each side. The battery lasts less than two hours, and I can't find where to buy a second batter as an add-on.

Overall Review: Overall very happy. The con's do not take away from the positives in my mind. I couldn't build a laptop from Dell, HP, or other vendors and get all of the features and functionality I did with this ASUS.

Pros: This computer's fast. Booting takes less than a minute. I have installed CS4 Design Premium on it and it works fantastic. Excellent graphics card; I watched blu-ray movies on it and the picture quality is amazing. It helps that the screen res is 1600 x 900, and its got the 16:9 ratio for a true widescreen experience. I was watching youtube videos, editing on photoshop, installing some program, and downloading torrents with very little effort. I havent's installed any games yet, but I will. And it's got a 640gb hdd at 7200 rpm. All that for $1,700 Cdn; it's practically a steal. The 1 year accidental damage warranty is icing on the cake. No extra charge for that one; you just have to register on adw.asus.com within 60 days of your purchase. And that's only good for North American customers that buy their stuff from certain retailers. Newegg is one of them! Other pros: rock solid build, simple design, doesn't get too hot, cpu. I'm so glad I found this.

Cons: Blu-ray player wasn't pre-installed, and the disc they gave me was defective. Not a big deal because tech support just told me to go on the website and install a slightly older version (which is not a big deal at all) and they'll send me replacement disc free of any charges. I actually got the disc a couple of days ago. It's heavy. It's not really meant to be lugged around. The thing weighs almost 10 pounds! The touchpad button is loud when clicked, but I don't give a s*** about that cuz it's such a great computer overall! Other cons: typical vista hiccups.

Overall Review: Not too sure about battery life. Haven't used Express Gate yet. Don't wanna mess with bios; the computer is fine as is. It comes with a free computer bag, which is good considering the rare screen size (17 inches).

Pros: Best bang for your buck without a doubt. The hadware is fantastic. And despite a couple hic-cups from vista and a lot of bloatware it was pretty much ready to go right out of the box. Blu-ray movies look great and it handles most new games at high settings.

Cons: The blu-ray sotware that comes with the laptop does not work right off the bat and you will most likely be in contact with asus' or corel's tech support for a few days. (corel tech is only free via email, it is fee based over the phone) I took a different route and just purchased some software to avoid the hassle. Also you can't tweak the graphics card very much at all, even just through the nvidia software it causes crashes and freezes. Not to much of a problem though as it performs quite well. Also the 2 hard drives are divided into four partitions, which is quite annoying.

Overall Review: Overall I am very happy with this purchase. But I will be upgrading to windows 7 as fast as possible. 4 eggs for the blu-ray software issue, the default partitioning and the bloatware.
