Question 1

If I use the headphones does the Spitfire thing always have to be plugged in or can I just use it when I want to? I want to be able to use these for when I gaming at home, but I also need some headphones for school and I don't want to be carrying all this stuff around.

The headpones have dedicated audio and mic jacks(green and red) that plug into the Spitfire amp.  The amp then has it's own USB connector.  As long as your device can support standard audio and mic connectors I'm sure you could do it.

Bear in mind that the headset's wire itself is pretty long, so even if you don't want to carry the amp in your pocket, case, whatever, you're still going to have the little volume, mute dongle, and more than likely a fully utilized cable organization solution (approximately 2.5 in x 1 in x 0.5 in) to carry around anyway.

Question 2

I have the CROSSHAIR V FORMULA-Z mobo and im gonna buy these tomorrow.. wandering should I use the USB or plug the 2 into the mobo since it has the SupremeFX III built-in 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC built into the board?

I have always plugged into my crosshair V formula's 3.5 mm directly and set sound quality to very high, but it's my understanding that it doesn't really matter which hook-up you choose. I guess you can try both and decide for yourself. These types of answers vary greatly from person to person anyway. My son likes so much bass that I got him special headphones with a 50mm voice coil. Myself, I like the more reference standard types that give an accurate representation of the original recording (like these). "Different strokes for different folks" I guess.
      I love these headphones. I do recommend using the equalizer; for the mic especially. The default it's a bit tinny sounding to others (or so I've been told on Teamspeak in Stellar Impact). Just  my opinion. The surround is surprisingly clear and separated. Regards... I hope this helps!

Question 3

I'm trying to register my product under my asus account in case I need to file a warranty claim but I am unable to find the product name on the box or I'm unsure what category it fits under. The closest I could figure out is Accessories and Peripherals but nothing comes close under the product name select down list. Any help on this?

Is there a category for Audio/Multimedia?  On asus's main site that is where the headsets are listed, also under ROG.  I forgot how I registered mine to be honest.  I would try contacting asus support to get a more clear answer.  Furthermore be careful of the audio clip as the wires can get loose in there and will cut sound.  I had to resodder mine to get it working again.  outside of that I love the headset.
