IMO, with the future of Internet demands and operating system needs, I don't go with less than 8 Gig of RAM when I'm building a PC for a customer even though an OS will indicate the "minimum" RAM needed ---- go higher! The price of that extra RAM these days is minor compared to years past.   I've been using DDR3 1600 (PC3-12800).  I have to say this too -- an SSD drive for "C drive only" and a second standard hard drive for data makes a computer absolutely sweet.  A 128Gig is normally enough for the OS and app installs.  I really am an ASUS MOBO fan and this board is my first choice.  RAM = 8 Gig and higher -- my recommendation
