Hi, does this come with a SATA cable for a HDD / SSD?

Yes it comes with two or three sata cables. I believe it is a mix of 90° and straight (180°) connectors so it should have what you need to fit whatever your case situation is.

Go to the manufacturer's site and support. Type in the model number and hit search. Select the non Thunderbird option. There is a section there for memory comparability PDF files or QVL(Qualified Vendors List).

Is this compatible with this motherboard?

I have been using the i5-3570k LGI 1155 processor with this motherboard since October. I've had stable and fast performance without a single crash running 24/7 with the occasional reboot. I have a dual system Linux OS box (OpenSUSE and Kali Linux). I hope this helps!

Do you recommend any cases that fit this motherboard?

I case I am currently using is a Corsair Obsidian 900D, and while I do love the case and its very expansive size, I do realize its not for everyone. However, I do appreciate the architecture/design of the case and would recommend the Corsair Obsidian 750D for regular builds that has a little extra room for expansion/manipulation.

How many SATA cables did this come with? The picture looks like it will come with 4, but I'd like to hear from someone who actually bought this. Thanks!

Yes, it comes with 4 SATA cables and two of them have 90 degree connectors on one end.  Solid board with no issues so far.  
One tip though, if you ever plan to run any drives in a RAID configuration, set the SATA mode to RAID before you load the OS.  See section 3.5.3 in the manual.  Even if you're just loading Windows on a single SSD drive and plan to add a RAID 1 in the future, set it to RAID in the BOIS.  Of course, you'll have to load the RAID drivers before the Windows setup, but you'll safe yourself headaches in the future since you cannot change this setting after Windows is installed and it applies to all Intel SATA plugs.  I, personally, disabled the Asmedia SATA controller because I only have 4 SATA devices and kept them on the Intel controller.  Hope that helps.  Enjoy!

I have had this MB with its onboard video in use for over a year but now displays the screen very faintly.  I check monitor and cable on another machine and are fine.  Can I just purchase an external video card and add to machine?  Anything I should check to trouble shoot?

Greg M,  I purchased this monther board last year for a computer I was setting up for my brother-in-law.  It runs in his business and he's not experienced similar issues.  To answer your question about using a seperate video card, the answer is yes you can install a seperate video card.  The mother board will either automatically detect it and use it as the primary, or you have to hit F2 at bootup (prior to the windows startup screen) and set the video card as primary/default manually in the Bios.  Being as you tested the cable and monitor with another pc and did not experience the same issue, I would say a video card is your best route to resolve the issue.

Hi will this board work with a sandybridge CPU?

Yes it will, What you need to look at when considering CPU is look at the specifications tab and you will see it says 1155. 1155 is the socket type, google 1155 cpu or chipset and you will find that is the sandbridge and ivybridge compatible socket.

I currently use this motherboard in combination with the ivybridge I7 3770k cpu listed here on newegg and find it to run fantisticly fast in my games, autocad and photoshop applications.

Question 9

Can someone who owns this MB confirm whether is has UEFI or BIOS firmware?

I cannot seem to confirm it on Newegg, but it the ASUS site says it is UEFI.

This MB DOES have UEFI. It is somewhat of an improvement over the old BIOS, but I've been assembling PC since late 80's, and I'm not as impressed as most folks are. I was expecting something different I guess. This was my first UEFI BIOS MB.

Question 10

Does this Mobo support AMD cards?

Yes, if it is a "PCI Express" compatible card it should work. If you scroll down a bit and click the specifications tab, you will find your answer in the "Features" section, at the bottom. It says "Quad-GPU SLI and Quad-GPU/3-Way CrossFireX Support!" CrossFireX is AMD's version of SLI.  For the record, I love this board.
