Do you have to use the Pike to enable the 8 ports? I have not built the server yet and the documentation is really unclear if they work or not. I would be happy with Intel RAID if that is what it came with.

I purchased this PIKE card for use with my TS700-E7.

I never attempted to utilize all 8 ports without the card but I believe the integrated chipset does not support more than 6 devices. This may vary based on the server model you are using.

I chose to utilize the PIKE card as it had known support for properly implementing JBOD so I could utilize ZFS.
