Can one upgrade the memory and add a SSD to it?

Yes. This laptop has 4 ram slots. 2 will be occupied and located underneath the keyboard. The 2 empty slots are conveniently located under the laptop and accessible by loosening ones screw for the upgrade bay. This laptop has 2 empty M.2 slots for SSD. You cannot use SATA style M.2. This laptop uses the newer faster NVMe SSDs. Specifically M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe. You will need to update the firmware if you wish to run RAID on the SSDs as the older firmware revisions lack the option. An oversight by Asus until pretty recently.I hope this helps!

I just received mine. It comes in a plain cardboard box from Asus with a token "if this seal is broken, then check contents" seal on it. The laptop is well packaged for shipping, however. The laptop is placed into a tyvek style sheath and that is, in turn, placed into a thick plastic bubble that tightly matches the dimensions of the laptop. It comes with the original Asus Charger/Power Adapter (approximately 180W I believe for this particular laptop). This is the only thing with which the laptop is shipped. Hope that helps!
