Will this card be compatible with a sabertooth z87 board?

Hey All,
I just wanted to post, I talked to a representative at ASUS and he confirmed I have to use the BLACK PCIe slot the furthest away from the processor.  I think some of you might have been confused, as I was waiting to get confirmation before purchasing.  I just purchased the drive and will post again once it arrives, as I have to clone the existing SATA II drive to it.. and will likely have to follow some of the advise posted here.. thanks again to all!  Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have one .. it's on a ASUS P6T MOBO ... it lights up, boot up shows RAIDR 0 an 1 but Windows 7 does not see a drive. The RAM disc is there 16Gig ... the HybriDisk tells me it only  works on RAIDR so I guess it does not see the drive either. A couple of frustrating hours into this and not a minute of use so far.

If the UEFI light is on, try turning off your computer and flipping the switch on the back of the card.  Very few computers fully support UEFI and the easiest way to get the card running right now is flip the switch to legacy mode.  The orange light on the back of the card will turn off.

If within Windows already, you need to initialize the drive first before Windows will see it.  Press Windows Key + R to open the run command.  Type "diskmgmt.msc".  On the list, see if it shows up.  If it is on the list, right click to initialize and format the disk.

Also worth noting, you can only change the raid options of the card while it is switched to legacy mode.  Press CTRL + M during boot to get into the raid configuration if you need to make any changes.  By default, I believe the card is set to RAID0.

I just bought a Asus Desktop to be delivered next week; 16GB Memory 2TB Hard Drive model M51ACUS002S. This has a i7 with windows 8 64 bit. Would this card make a noticeable difference in boot up and app speed?

What asus rog motherboards does this ssd compatible with?

The motherboard I have is the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z,  but this drive is compatible with any motherboard that has a PCI Express 4.0 slot on the board.

One thing I will tell you that took me hours to figure out is,  there is a switch on the hard drive you will want to switch to UEFI/LEGACY mode to make it accept installing an OS. I just leave it on that.

Please elaborate more on your question so I can further my answer. I assume you know the RAIDR is not a video card therefore I automatically think you are asking if the RAIDR is able to be used on a mother board that already has 3 video cards being used. If that is what you mean then it all depends on if the mother board has 4 PCI-E slots or not.

I do not have that MB but I would expect if you have a bus slot for the RAIDR you will be ok.

I use mine for CAD files (SolidWorks) which are current projects. It flies. I have been using it since October and very very happy with it.

Does it come with software migration tool?

No. You will have to have your own solution in place if you wish to migrate data to this drive. I simply performed a backup of my boot volume that was not specific to the hardware. Then I restored it on the RAIDR. Once done I powered down and removed my previous boot drive and made sure the RAIDR was listed as a boot drive. Then I booted straight into my OS as though it never happened... only faster.

Can I take four of these and make them a raid 0 bootable drive for WIN 8.1?

I really am not qualified to answer the RAID question ... but the device can be made to be one disc so I would think given the right RAID software it could be done. But what mother  board will allow you four slots for this plus your video board etc?

It is an excellent product and fast. So even if you only get one you are going to be thrilled.

No, it has a built in RAID controller for this drive alone.

What(if any) performance hit on graphics will I see if I am running a single GTX 670 on my first PCIx16 slot and having this Raidr on my second PCIx16 slot?

It depends on your motherboard bridges. Most motherboards won't reduce the speed of the first PCIx16 slot by adding hardware to the second slot, however this is not the case for all. The noticeable difference if it does reduced the speed will be minimal, but would certainly make me disappointed. Just read the motherboard manual to see the bridge config for your build.
