Pros: - Much lighter than the previous model - Sound quality is still incredible - Using MQA through TIDAL is an amazing experience, albeit an expensive one - Blacked out look, which is a lot more aesthetically pleasing on an already beautiful device - RGB zones are more accurate and vibrant
Cons: - Mic does not sound nowhere as clear as the last model. They use some fancy technologies to tune out noise, and it does work great, but makes overall mic quality much worse. I typically turn off all forms of enhancements and then mess with the mic in Voicemod afterwards, but that doesn't seem to be entirely possible this time. This wasn't really a big deal to me since I'm getting a seperate USB mic anyways. - There is this very very faint sort of ringing sound that happens when no sound is playing. You can't notice it at all unless you really focus on it, I'm not sure if this is some kind of hardware problem, or can be fixed in software, but it's no problem for me since I can't even notice it unless I try.
Overall Review: The ROG Delta S is a pretty solid upgrade over its predecessor. If you currently have the ROG Delta it's only really worth it if yours is getting old or if you have the money to spend. I've had my Delta for many months and it has served me well, with incredible sound quality, great comfort, and stunning looks. The Delta S has an MQA renderer, which you'll basically never take advantage of, but when you do, it sounds awesome. The headset is much lighter, and has a better look in my opinion compared to the last one. It's incredibly comfortable, somehow even more so than the original, and it's the only headset I've been able to wear all day without feeling any form of discomfort. I have to give 4 stars for the mic not sounding as good, but it might be something that could be fixed in software eventually. After all, I did buy this headset the day it came out.
