Please tell me - modern demanding games on this video card,
How will they work smoothly or will they hang-slow down ???

This card works great for 1080p gaming over 60fps. I would say this is one of the best mid range cards you can get right now, but if you want to do a higher resolution, it will eventually hit it's limits. If you are having issues with hanging and slowing down it may not be your graphics card causing it.

Does this pair well with the Ryzen 5 3600 CPU?

Works just fine, no specific feature sets giving differing performance between intel and AMD, unlike the 5600x and Radeon 6X00’s.  There are better performing cpus out, however between price and availability, the 3600 is still a good price/performance sweet spot.  Depends on what games you are playing and what target resolutions and refresh rate targets if the 1660 super will be sufficient.  No cyberpunk at 1440 high or greater settings with that combo, but competitive FPS will be ok.

Is this card good for VR?

Have not tried it for VR, but this is a 1080 graphics card for gaming.  Given VR requires rendering the scene twice, once for each eye, you want to look at what resolution your VR headset is, then determine what framerates you want to play at.  If you are willing to do 1080@30 fps you can probably use this at low to medium settings, but most decent headsets are higher resolution.  I’d consider a 2070 super or higher for any serious VR.
