Thoughts on quality vs a non-refurbished unit? Does it run cooler than the AC68U/R?

Quality was top notch, could not tell difference between this and new.

Bought it because of high reviews from multiple sites. I am planning on getting another to get full coverage in my very large house. 5G seems to cover an area of about 20-30 feet. 2.4G seems to cover 50-75 feet. Unfortunately, I need to place this at one end of house so the broadcast out into the street side is wasted. If this were central to my house one would probably do it. I doubt that I'll get 5G at the other end of the house since I don't plan on wiring it but using wireless to the base, but do expect solid and good 2.4G coverage.

I want to ask via what company or service you send a parcel of "Asus RT-AC68P Dual-band Wireless AC1900 Gigabit Router-Certified Refurbished"?
Because I'm staying in a temporary residence, and the local PO said to me they couldn't deliver a parcel to the address.
So, if you send it via UPS, FedEx etc. I think I can get it. But if you use USPS, I can't.
Please, give me an answer.

This is a router not a modem. If you are looking to connect phone line, you will need a DSL modem. 
Example: ASUS DSL-N10 Wireless-N150 ADSL Modem

It is provider agnostic. As long as you have a cable modem or DSL modem it should work fine (really, an RJ45 connector). I have Cox and it works fine.

Is this the RT-AC68P which is 1GHz and not the AC68R which 800MHz?  The RT-AC68p also handles USB 3.0 better.

I have several of these.

The router handles wireless in the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz bands. The utility of the 5G band and its dual channel transfers is of limited use for distances that are much beyond 5-10 yards in a walled home or office, and reception is basically non-existent 50 feet away. The 2.4G Band is better, perhaps working out to 20 yards. An open warehouse gets much better operation. Actual data transfer rates vary depending on signal strength as received at the router. This can be as low as a few MB but typically run in the 50-70 MB range.

LAN connections, USB 2 and 3 are supported. USB 3 has a maximum transfer rate of about 625MB while USB2 is about 1/10 that rate.

The ethernet is 10/100/1000 Base-T so indeed that runs at 1GHz, but data transfers are typically much less than that and entirely depend on your interface to the outside world.

So I can only assume you are referring to the chipset of the unit. The P version does run a different chip at 1GHZ clock than the R or the U versions at 800 MHz clock. THis does not technically alter any of the specifications on the unit; they are equivilent for the R P or U versions.

In actual practice, you will probably never notice the difference, although some have cited the improvement of the P as you indicate, issues or complaints against the AC68 are common to all models. I don't believe the P was never sold on the "open" market as were the R and U versions, so the only way that you will get one is as a refurbished unit.

if you are looking for a model P instead of the R or other variants, this is the P. I find it to be a very good, one of the best routers and certainly so for the price.
