Is the range further then most routers..? Wanting to use the 5Ghz and I have a 950sq ft place.

I have aproximately 1250 sq feet on each floor of my 2 floors house.  Router is in the office above garage (on a one side of the hose) and I can get at least 3 bars at the second floor farthest spot from the router and good speed .  I think it is giving me longer distance than my Apple airport I had before. I think you will have no any problem to cover 950 sq f

Yes.  If you will be using this as your main wireless router you will want to shut the wireless off on your modem

Is the white version a current version (RT-AC68W)? I do not see it on the ASUS US site.

It is a current version.  You do not see it on website because they had RT-AC68U on website.  RT-AC68U Is identical to RT-AC68W but black in color.  There is no ANY difference between these two routers but color.

Question 5

I saw a review that said this router could copy the MAC address of another device, making connection to your ISP simpler (no phone call necessary). Can it copy (or can I input) the MAC of the router I'm replacing?

You shouldn't need MAC cloning at all or a phone call to your ISP to get it all setup.  Just connect the WAN port to your modem, and connect your PC to the other one of the 4 available ports.  Or use WiFi.  ISP's have nothing to do with how your home networking is setup, as long as you already have a connection from them on their modem.

The ASUS web site does not show this AC-RT68W model. Can someone please explain why ?

My guess would be that the Newegg listing name includes information in addition to the product name. Newegg will not let me include a link to the asus website but if you google RTAC68W the asus web page is the first result
