Will this router work with my Arris surfboard SB6190 cable modem?

Accepted Answer

Any router that has a WAN port, which is all of them, will be able to take an Ethernet connection.  Connect your Ethernet cable from the device (whether it be cable modem, DSL, Fiber as long as it has an Ethernet connection) to the WAN port and you're good to go.  Many times you may have to reboot the modem to get the connection working.

In the Specs on your website for Asus RT-AX56U, it says it has WPA3 security, but on Asus Website Specs is only says WPA2 highest security?

Yes. It has WPA3. I have the router and it has WPA3 as an option. It also has a WPA2/WPA3 setting so devices that don't yet support WPA3 can still connect.

Can I connect an external hard drive to the USB ports on this to make it accessible on my network?

Yes. That is the USB's ports intended purpose.

If i were to connect a device (like my PC) to the Mesh hub, will it work/will it work well?

Accepted Answer

Mesh systems are great if you have a large or multi-level residence. Basically, you have a "base unit" that attaches to one or more satellite units. As a unit they provide a strong signal throughout the area. There might be a very small speed cost as the units need to shuttle data back and fourth, but It should be negligible.

Have a 2000 Sqft house and the office is all the way on the other side of the house from my bedroom, will this router have a wifi signal strong eunough to reach to the TV in my bedroom?
