Question 1

This router has a 10G WAN but no 10G ethernet, (besides the SFP+ -Not exactly a consumer port and I'm pretty sure that will only work on NAS)?
Looking for multi gig WAN AND Ethernet in a WIFI-6 router.
So close to being everything I need, you would think for half a grand you could get that.

You need to get a 10GBase-T SFP+ RJ45 module so that you can connect an ethernet cable to that SFP+ port. This gives you the ability to use a 10G WAN and LAN, if you're not using fiber. I'm using it that way on a 10G multigig switch.

Is there support for VLAN based on the IEEE 802.1 Q standard?

Thats not true for CenturyLink fiber internet I had to setup VLAN 201 on my Asus Wireless router from the ONT, to my LAN switch, to the ASUS wireless router. VLANs setup is not transparent I'll give you that you have to go to "Advanced Settings", "LAN", and go to the "IPTV" tab. Under that tab you will see "LAN Port" and under there you can specify the VLAN and priority if needed but only on the WAN port and two other ports. You wont be able to setup up advanced features like a trunking port that can pass multiple VLANs but port based VLAN is supported in a limited fashion.

Does this work with century link?

Yes it will work with Cable and DSL Modems and if you have fiber going directly into your home you can setup a VLAN on the WAN port and you can add your PPPOE credentials to connect to CenturyLink internet. CenturyLink Fiber usually runs on VLAN 201 so connect the ONT to your ASUS router and google where the WAN PPPOE credential settings are and IPTV settings on your ASUS router. You can get your PPPOE credentials by calling CenturyLink.

Confused how there are reviews of purchases on here already. I've asked around, even reached out to Asus and have been told this product hasn't been released yet. Covid delays. While I have a pre-order in place, it would be nice to now an ETA on a release. Days? Weeks? Months?

Already released, but low supply.  Try scrolling to the bottom of the product page and see if there are some 'used' / 'open-box' stock left.  Looks like there are at least a few left at the time of this post.

Question 5

I am curious why this or other hi speed devices are relevant when most devices can't keep up with the transfer speeds anyway.  For one... most people still use HDD"s for storage and they are 250MB/s write speed.  Most Internet services in the US are far below even 1 Gigabit and are un affordable anyways.  So what's the point of the wi fi 6 speeds?  Trust me, I am looking for a reason to buy.  Just having a hard time.  If streaming, wifi 5 is enough via wifi or hard connection.

I have a NAS in my house with 10Gbps routers.  i know the NAS HDD are limited to 6Gbps read/write speeds and it is even slower because it has to transfer it before sending out over ethernet.  i wanted to make sure i had the fastest available today to keep up with increase in speed of future equipment.  This will also also my household to transfer big files between computers and NAS - this will help with work from home in processing big files.  my ISP is on 10Mbps and i'm working on increasing it slowly.. i might even have to bridge a few solutions to get to 1Gbps depending on what i'm willing to pay, but this helps me keep my options open.

I don't see WPA3 option yet, in the current firmware.  But it seems (judging by ASUS's support page) that WPA3 support is coming?  Maybe I missed a setting somewhere.  As for Kr00k vulnerability, I don't see a firmware patch note about it, however since this router uses Qualcomm processor, it probably doesn't have the vulnerability to begin with?
