Frank: I've had this card in a 500w pc for about 6 months now with no problems.  We are also moderate gamers. Rocket league, Garry's mod, project Kars, descent: underground, Elite: dangerous, Receiver, Ruby, all run at full screen high res, high frame rates, with no overheating or power problem.

Without motherboard & CPU details, it's hard to say. This card *DOES* require the additional power (PCI-E 6-pin) to be plugged in.

It works fine (75FPS) on most any PCI-E 2.0+ motherboards with a 4/6/8 core CPU over 2.4GHz. I currently have it installed in an Asus M5A97 EVO board with 16GB DDR3 (AMD FX-8350 x8), and it plays Fallout4 at max settings easily 40FPS.

I bought an Asus Radeon R9 270 (R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5) and I was thinking of cross-fire. According to newegg this R7 370 card is considered a "newer version". So my question is, can these be cross-fired?

Cross fire doesn't really get you far. I mean most games use 1 - 2 gb MAX . You have 4 . You are all set untill PS 5 or 6 comes out.

I was looking at the ASUS Radeon R9 270 R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card when I saw that it was out of stock. Im using a Gigabyte GA?H97?HD3 Motherboard. Would this newer version still be compatible with the motherboard?

I am not sure but I also run a gigabyte MB and I have the 3TB startup support, so I think you should be in good shape to use this video card, just make sure you have a power chord point from the power source, 6 point, to make the power connection.
