Question 1

Has anyone purchased this tablet, and is it as it is described on the site. should i buy it or is it a bad product sale?

I just got this last week, it does match the product description. When they referenced the size, the screen doesn't feel to be that big. The battery life is really good, i've very surprised, especially for a windows tablet. Immediately put Windows 10 and noticed an improvement in speed. Still figuring this out and getting the apps updated. The 32gb of storage isn't the best, highly recommended that you buy an sdcard to expand... With how this was built, you only have about 12gb to work with. 8gb is used by the recovery software and can't be touched and the windows 8.1 os takes up about 12gb, so buy an sdcard if possible.

Question 2

Has anyone been able to delete the 8 GB recovery partition and expand the C drive?  There's only 10.8 gb free and windows 10needs 13 to install. Not sure if thats temp untill install is complete but still would like to remove recovery partiton to a backup drive and utilize all the space it has to offer. I already tried to delete in command prompt

I did not try to wipe any partitions but rather connected a large USB external HD. The Windows 10 install recognizes the external disk as an option and does the downlaod and install without issue. I havent looked at what gets copied but the USB drive apparently has a backup of the Widnows 8.1 system that it does prior to install.

Install of Windows 10 does take some time both for download and install/confi but works without issue once complete.

Question 3

How do you install software?
Will it run all normal windows software?

This is a normal computer with normal Windows 8.1 (not RT), so if you can get the software on it, it should run.  You'll want to put the installers on USB or MicroSD or download the software directly to the computer to install.  Do understand, though, that this is a lower powered processor/video card, so don't expect it to play new games at full speed, nor do any major number crunching.

Question 4

Does this product come with a good battery or will i have to replace it to use the tablet? Can it be recharged or are they mostly defective? Thank you.

Some people said that the battery was dead in their machines, which is possible as asus shipped mine in sleep mode....

I was able to get it to charge to full (showed like 30% capacity), but after conditioning the battery with some charge/drain cycles, it now works for ~ 10+ hours.

Should be noted that the machine WILL NOT power on if the battery is dead, even with DC power. Also, it won't power on if the battery is disconnected, it will just flash some orange LED a few times.

Does this machine have an optical drive for cd and dvd?

You're not going to be able to run an optical drive off of the USB ports on the machine as they are not powered. You either need to get a USB hub to plug in a USB optical drive, or a powered OTG pass-through cable -- where you plug your OTG cable into the micro female port on the PC, the power adapter into the OTG micro male port, and the optical drive into the OTG full sized usb port.

Anyone else having a problem with the touchscreen sometimes not working properly?

Mostly noticable with the virtual keyboard, where it types repeated keys with one touch, or misses some presses. Doesn't always happen, but when it does it stays that way for a while.

I took it apart and looked at the ribbon cable for the touch device, which seems to be defective (the cable or the connector). Bending the cable makes the problem come and go, and if bent more than 20 degrees at the connector, touch inputs randomly happen.

will windows 10 load?

Yes, had no problems, and no drivers to install but you will need to add an SD card for more storage space for the Windows 10 install, although it took about two hours to complete. It was worth it.

Does the refurbished t100 come with office and power point?

Does it actually come with a usb3.0 port or is it all 2.0? Most have a 2.0 on the device and 3.0 on the keyboard. Is it like that, or all 2.0?

The standard USB port on the keyboard is USB 3.0 marked with blue color. The one on the tablet itself is a micro USB and I am not sure, most probably it is USB 2.0.

Only 2GB RAM, has this been an issue for anyone running multiple apps at once?

Hi. I use my transformer for fairly light use but I haven't really found the 2gm ram to be an issue. I consistently run 3-5 apps without problem. (Spotify, web browser, excel, word, powerpoint, etc)
